HTMS Sattakut Wreck Dive For history lovers and students, we have not forgotten you. HTMS Sattakut is one of Thailand’s premier wrecks which was sunk on 18th June 2011 near Koh Tao. Furthermore, the landing craft infantry, also known as (LCI) was one of the infamous assault ships during world war two. This artificial reef harbors both of the two historical vessels which has turned into a home for various types of marine life. Additionally, it is the home to barracudas, groupers, schools of fusiliers, blennies and moray eels. For those of you who haven’t done any type of wreck dive, this is a good point to start and is definitely something that is out of the ordinary.

LOCATION OFF Of Koh tao

The Sattakut lays in a sandy area, just south of the dive site Hin Pee Wee. Her Stern lies at a depth of around 30-31 meters and her Bow in 26 meters. Although still relatively new, the dive site boasts an abundance of marine life that has flocked to Sattakut and now calls home. A 15-20 minute boat ride from Crystal Dive the dive site is often the second dive of an advanced dive trip. There are 2 buoy lines on the wreck, attached to the ship itself and there is one more attached to a large concrete block with an extra line, leading to the wreck. HTMS Sattakut is suitable for divers with their Advanced certification or higher, and for penetration a Wreck Specialist certification is required. It is also a popular choice for one of the elective Adventure dives as part of the PADI Advanced Open water diver course.

Highlights HTMS Sattakut Aside from the wreck itself, Grey Reef Shark, Great Barracudas, Pufferfish and various Flatworms.

Thai dessert for summer

Thai Sweet Sticky Rice With Mango

(Khao Neeo Ma-muang) It’s mango season here in Thailand, and the best way to enjoy them is to pair the sweet fruit with sweet and salty coconut-milk sticky rice. Khao Nieow Ma-muang is a very popular dessert with both Thais and foreign visitors, and the first sweet we’re adding to the site. Enjoy!

Directions 1 Combine the rice and water in a saucepan; bring to a boil; cover and reduce heat to low. Simmer until water is absorbed, 15 to 20 minutes.

Ingredients • 1 1/2 cups uncooked short-grain white rice • 2 cups water • 1 1/2 cups coconut milk • 1 cup white sugar • 1/2 teaspoon salt • 1/2 cup coconut milk • 1 tablespoon white sugar • 1/4 teaspoon salt • 1 tablespoon tapioca starch • 3 mangos, peeled and sliced • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds

2 While the rice cooks, mix together 1 1/2 cups coconut milk, 1 cup sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon salt in a saucepan over medium heat; bring to a boil; remove from heat and set aside. Stir the cooked rice into the coconut milk mixture; cover. Allow to cool for 1 hour. 3 Make a sauce by mixing together 1/2 cup coconut milk, 1 tablespoon sugar, 1/4 teaspoon salt, and the tapioca starch in a saucepan; bring to a boil. 4 Place the sticky rice on a serving dish. Arrange the mangos on top of the rice. Pour the sauce over the mangos and rice. Sprinkle with sesame seeds.
