STATE TO STATE TRANSPORT Our veterinarian will issue health papers for the release of the cattle to your state provided they meet your state’s requirements.

2020 was a year that will be talked about for generations to come. The events of the year worldwide are something that we all hope to put behind us. While the year was unique and challenging in many ways here at Triple T Farms we have been blessed. Our business and the demand for our cattle were unlike any other year before. We had a very successful calving season both in the spring and fall that introduced many exciting and new genetics along with many of the proven matings that we have depended on in the past. This relates to you, our customers, in regards to the outstanding offerings that we will be able to provide in this year’s production sale.

As I get older, I review my breeding triumphs and my failures throughout the years and we try to build on those as we carefully review our herd each year and strive toward perfection. Teresa and I learn everyday but our now experience of over 30 years in the seed stock business often gives us valuable knowledge and an edge in moving our program forward. Our real world approach to cattle breeding through our proven genetics has navigated us to where we are today in our program.

As many of you know we make our living breeding cattle. It’s neither a hobby nor a sideline. Our valuable customers have come to realize this and they relate to the passion and dedication that we have in doing the best job possible to fulfill their need for dependable, profitable and functional cattle. We know that both our repeat customers and our new customers place a great deal of faith in us. This is just one of the many reasons that we take pride and put so much effort into the process.

Approved Herd Sires Approved Herd Sires ABHA rules require that all American Black Hereford Breeding bulls used to produce registered calves born after Jan 1st 2017 be tested free of all know genetic defects in the breed .This test includes 50k testing and parentage on file. All the bulls in this sale except for commercial or otherwise noted are approved herd sires for use in the Black Hereford Breed.

Black Hereford bulls can be registered without the testing and some producers choose to sell them without testing. Buying untested bulls can cause issues for registered buyers. Our policy is to test all the bulls we sale. This is just one of the many reasons that our customers buy with confidence from our program.

Kentucky and Tennessee cost share funds for Ag. Enhancement programs The states of both Tenn. and KY have cost share funds available for purchasing Black Hereford and Angus Bulls. Tenn. has a requirement that bulls must have a minimum accuracy for EPDs. Most all of our bulls will qualify for cost share funds in both states. Check with you local County Agent or Ag enhancement board for state requirements.

This is one power house of a bull in the making. He has the thickness and muscle that everyone looks for in a quality bull. He is big footed and big boned. Not only does he have the tools but he is backed by a proven pedigree. His dam is a direct daughter of the great Hereford bull Juice Box and his grand sire is an early breed legend 8616 Curve Bender. His weaning ratio was 106 and his yearling was 102. He is heifer acceptable and ranks in the top 73 % of the breed for BW EPD. This guy has a lot going on and will get the job done.

I have had more comments on this bull by visitors than any other bull in the lot. He is long and wide. His phenotype is almost perfection. That makes for good eye appeal.

His dam sells as lot 70. She has been a great performer for us and is good udder and has perfect teats. His performance numbers are just as impressive with a 106 weaning ratio and a 101 yearling ratio. His ultra sound scan on Ribeye was the largest of any bull scanned for us this year. This is a performance bull in every way. Don’t let him slip away.

If this bull doesn’t look beefy as some of the others it is because we have been working him some. We liked this bull so much we wanted to use him to clean up some cows after AI breeding and before we sold him. His grandsire is the great growth bull 8622.

His dam is a Dynasty daughter. Those of you that are familiar with the breed know that combination is hard to beat. These are 2 of the legendary bulls of the breed. One has the growth and the other has the maternal and female making traits. He has the highest marbling scan of any bull we had this year. This is going to be a special bull.

I know some of you are going to pass right on by this bull because he is entirely black, If you do you’re making a big mistake. This may be the best bred bull in the sale. He is an ET transfer sired by 8622 and one of our best donor cows. He will sire black/white calves like any other Black Hereford bull. He just got too much of the black gene. As an ET calf he couldn’t be ratio but look at his weaning and yearling numbers. If that’s not enough to impress you his weaning and yearling EPDs rank in the top % of the breed and he is put together the correct way. Don’t let him get away, this guy is a winner.

We have used the combination of Dynasty and this cow for several years now. If you ask why, It is because its works! Each mating that we produce has combinations that provide opportunity’s to meet certain goals. The embryos offered in this sale provide some of the strongest possibility of herd building genetics that we have offered in quiet some time. We selected this mating after witnessing the success of this pairing on 2 different nature mating’s. The results were just what we were looking for in females.

This package sired by Black Dynasty Z420ET who is one of the highest accuracy and most heavily used bulls in the breed. His maternal traits and female making ability has been unmatched by any bull in the breed. His females are feminine and have great teats and udders. While he has adequate growth, his calves are heifer acceptable and though ABHA EPDs don’t reflect his CED accuracy correctly he is proven to have great calving ease ability. His smooth shouldered phenotype reflects and is often passed to his offspring.

The donor dam speaks of herself. Triple T’s CC Showtime 455 is a remarkable animal. She has the bone, volume, and capacity that exemplifies what a female production cow should be. She has proven herself as a reliable and impressive female both in the pasture and the showring. She was the 2016 Reserve National Champion.

This mating is for those wanting to develop the idea animals that will be the base to quickly build or improves a herd program. This package is proven and reliable and that is what most breeders are looking for. Just to show the fertility in this mating, the donor produced 27 eggs and Dynasty fertilized 25 for number ones. That is an unheard of number and we certainly have never achieved that in the past in any of the many mating that we have provided over the years. This is real world genetics that work. The calves will have a 50 % chance of being homozygous Black and both animals are test free of defects. Dedication

Betty & Wayne Tarter The love, passion and work that go into this farm are dedicated this year to my mother and father, Wayne and Betty Tarter. Dad passed 26 years ago but his wisdom and passion for agriculture and this farm inspires us to persevere our way of life. The farm was his turf and his gentle mild mannered personality was loved by most all that was acquainted with him. He truly cared for his fellow man, and his neighbors were important to him. The knowledge that he passed to me about farming and life has been a valuable tool throughout my life.

His lessons were taught well and are firmly imprinted in my mind and more importantly my heart. He had a gift for the soil and was widely acclaimed for his knowledge of cattle and his ability to grow some of the best tobacco in the world. He was known as the local country veterinarian and his host of friends was vast. He was not a famous man of the world nor did he hold a high educational degree of sorts. He however, was one of the wisest and the most broad-minded man I have ever known. His trademark was a Ford Truck, a thermos full of black coffee and a Winston cigarette in his hand. It was told he was the only man in the county that could drive across a pasture field 40 mph with a cup of coffee on the dash and not spill a drop. I think of him daily. Words don’t come easy for me when I speak of him as I hold back tears from my many memories, lessons, and adventures that we shared. He now walks the streets of gold and I long for the day that I will see him again. The things that we have accomplished on this farm would please dad and I know he would be proud. The best thing anyone can say about a person when we leave this world is that he was a good man. My dad wasn’t a good man. He was a great one!

Mother is still with us and last December we celebrated her 88th birthday. While she moves a bit slower, she is sharp as a tack and her wit is as fast as lighting. She has been the matriarch of our farm for now over 70 years and is the family and community historian. Listening to her is like a history lesson of the county. Her spunky and outgoing personality has always made her light up a room and she has never met a stranger.

Like many farm wives, she worked a public job, served as a farm hand in the field, raised three children, keeps a spotless house, and could make a wonderful meal from almost nothing. Her take-charge personality has served her well and allowed her to accomplish much in life. Pride swells as she speaks of her children and grandchildren. Her love for this farm and its history runs deep and she still to this day has a great interest in the areas that we are pursuing on the farm. As children we dreaded the punishment of dad but we were shamed when mother was involved for we always knew we had hurt the one that was always there to defend us unconditionally and to embrace us with loving arms. She loved one man and talks to him daily. We love her deeply and are honored to call her mother and are so blessed to still have her with us.
