Essay On My Favourite Season

Page 1

Fall is my favorite season out of the other three sensational seasons in Minnesota. I love fall because it happens to be my favorite season of the year. No, not volleyball or football season, but deer hunting. I have had good years hunting, and I have had bad years hunting, but my favorite year was my second year hunting.

November 8th, 2014. The first Saturday of the deer hunting season. Opening day. It was a 20 to 30 degree Fahrenheit day. Earlier this morning, my dad and I went out hunting hoping to get something, but sadly I did not see anything sitting in the stand with my dad. Since we had a long and boring morning, my dad and I decided to head back home and rest for the night shift of hunting. When we returned home, I undressed from all my orange clothing and took a long nap. I woke up to eat lunch, which was some warm homemade soup that my mother had made my dad and I to eat for lunch. After lunch, we were ready to head out again....show more content... Half of the day had passed by and it was time for round two of the opening day. I was so pumped for that night that it was hard to stay still. When we reached to grandpa's house, we pulled out the four wheeler again and drove it about a half a mile to our stand right in the middle of a swamp. The first hour out in the stand was so boring and again. I was sitting there looking at the beautiful birch trees and the tall prairie grass surrounding the stand. On the birch trees there were many antler scrapings, which means the bucks were once here marking their territory. My deer stand is approximately 20 feet off the ground, which gives a great view of the woods. I could see my grandpa's barn, which was about a half a mile away, but I could not see his big teal house, since all the big trees were blocking my view. Next to my stand about 40 feet away is an old and rotted deer stand someone put up in a tree many years

My Favorite Season Essay

When I was younger we used to have a party with my dad's side of the family every year on Christmas. It was always my favorite holiday because of the family time that came along with it. That was until christmas came when I was eleven years old. There had been some family issues but everyone thought it would get pushed aside for the sake of the party. That wasn't the case and what went from being my favorite holiday is now something that brings anxiety and stress for my whole family because now every get together is awkward and full of tension. The party started like any other one with high energy from all my cousins and loud conversations from all the adults. This Christmas fell on a Sunday and my mom had to work the next day, so as the night dragged on and it got to be 8 o'clock and we still didn't open any presents my mom simply asked "Could we get started on presents?" Little did we know that small statement would lead to the biggest blow up imaginable. After she said that my uncle started screaming at mom saying "You're in my house and if you don't like it leave now!" This led to even more yelling but for me the whole argument seemed to go over in slow motion and everything started to play over in my mind. It starting with how confused I was over how this got so out of hand so quickly and how adults couldn't get along for a night for the sake of the party. The argument ended only a couple minutes later with my older sisters and I crying and my aunt coming over to

Winter : My Favorite Winter

When you think of your favorite season, what comes to mind? Perhaps the newly changed leaves of fall, the green grass of spring or the beaches during summer.

Personally, I find winter to be the best season. Winter is a bonding season with a multitude of opportunities. The frigid air, the slippery ground and the sheet of white that covers the ground are just a few features of this season.I prefer winter because of the cold weather, the clothing and the long winter break.

One reason I prefer winter is the cold weather it brings. I enjoy the cold because it is often accompanied by snow. Myfamily often bonds over the snow. We enjoy building large forts and snowmen, though most of the time, we end up having a highly competitive snowball fight...show more content...

It's quite funny, especially when a leaf lands on him and he runs inside scared. Kirby refuses to walk on the cold ground and we have to carry him until we get to our vehicles.

Another reason I enjoy the cold is the beverages that come with it. Cold weather is often counteracted by drinking something warm. Among my winter favorites are coffee and cider. It's nice to come inside from spending hours in the snow and see a steaming cup of cider that my mother left on the counter for me. Above all else, coffee and cider can be adjusted to your liking, whether you prefer a lot of sugar, something bitter, or even something that tastes like a pumpkin. My family likes to visit Christmas light displays throughout December. At those displays there are often small activities, food vendors and cider vendors lining the premises. After procuring cider and kettle corn from vendors, the displays seem much more festive and we don't have to worry about becoming uncomfortable while we are out walking around for a few hours

Lastly, I enjoy cold weather because of the clothes we wear. My family is fairly humorous so they like to wear ugly sweaters, my parents even go to the Navy's ugly sweater Christmas parties, and dress up our dogs in tacky sweaters. It's certainly an experience waking up, dressing in an awkward sweater and then walking into the dining room to praise each other on their choice of ugly apparel. Another great thing to see

What Is My Favorite Season Essay

My Favorite Season We have four seasons in a year: summer, winter, spring, and fall, but countless activities to choose from throughout each of them. Many people will say that they like summer because it is hot, or fall because of the leaves. I do not have any particular season of weather that I like the most. My favorite season is soccer season because of the different stages throughout it; the first couple of weeks are always the hardest, next comes the stress of the first few games, and then we go out with a bang. Soccer season at my high school begins at the end of October and ends in late January or early February. When September rolls around, I can hardly sleep at night knowing that soccer season is so close. For a month, sometimes...show more content...

We have practiced for several weeks now, and this is thegame we find out who has what it takes to help us be successful. If anyone has listened to the criticism from our coach and taken it into consideration, all of the hard work she has put in will be revealed. After the first game, our coach has a fairly good idea of who he wants to represent our team as starters. The first game also reveals what areas we need more work in. It could be passing, shooting, defense, corner kicks, hustling, or even attitude. Our coach keeps a pen and paper during every game and writes down everything he thinks we need cover the next day at practice. Practice the day after our game is always intense. If we do not fix our errors at practice, they could happen again in the next game. Continuing to make the same mistakes in other games triggers the stress. It is very stressful when we work so hard every day at practice and continue to make the same mistakes. So our goal is to make sure we practice it enough not to mess up again. After we have worked on everything he thinks should be fixed, we take on game number two. Game two is normally better than game one because we are getting used to playing with each other again. We can relax andplay our game the way we train to, and then game three should show even more improvement. As soon as we get past those first few games, the stress is less. Now

We've all had to answer this question before, what's your favorite thing? We can answer that pretty easily because it's something that's special to us. Whether it's playing or watching your favorite sport or having a favorite stuffed animal, it's something that we will always cherish. There are multiple reasons why that favorite thing is important, and we will never forget them.

The rush of adrenaline you get right when your feet hit that court is like nothing else. That's why my favorite thing is the sport of volleyball. I have played this sport from a young age so it has been all I have ever known. The sport is unique because it incorporates skills that you must practice over and over to become perfect at. The team atmosphere is something I love about the sport. The feeling that the other five teammates on your side of the net have your back. This sport is impossible to succeed at if only one player isn't committed to the whole team goal. That's why team–bonding comes into play on and off the court. I remember having team dinners the night before every game. I would sit by my teammates talking about the game we had tomorrow, while eating loads and loads of that ooey gooey mac and cheese. My team would also do secret–sister before games. I would pick another player on my team to get me some quick snacks. I would then write her a note giving her encouragement for the game the next day. When I read the note from my teammate it was the best feeling in the whole world knowing that my friend had confidence in me to play my best game.

Not only were the girls on my team an inspiration to me but also the coaches that sat on the sideline during every match, and every practice. My coaches through my 9 years of volleyball have taught me an enormous amount of lessons. My coaches became mentors for the sport I love but also for life. I was taught many lessons from my coaches over the years that could be used for later on. For example, when I was playing on my club volleyball team at 12, I remember struggling to serve the ball over the net. My coach told me that I wasn't going to be perfect at that skill the first time I tried it. It would take multiple practices in the gym to meet my goal. That was a lesson I Get

I don't know about you, but my favorite holiday is Christmas; there's nothing better than waking up on Christmas morning to see what presents your parents had gotten you. This was my favorite part of Christmas and if you asked other kids they would say the same thing. Christmas was a time for opening gifts and enjoying time with family. Luckily for me, I went to my grandma 's on my mother's side. One year we go to my mother 's side and the following year we go to my father 's side. Even though I love getting presents on Christmas, it is not the only great thing about the holiday; spending time with your family, friends, and remembering Jesus Christ are important too. On the morning of December 25th, 2010, I was a twelve–year old boy. Waking up on Christmas morning was something I had been looking forward to for a few weeks. I was beyond excited to see what presents I had gotten from my parents. There was nothing better than getting to see what new toys I would have to play with. I woke up around 7 A.M. and ran into my parent's room to wake them up so we could open our presents; while I was jumping for joy, they were half awake and trying to get out of bed before I pulled them out myself. After they finally got out of bed we went into the living room. This is where we have always opened presents on Christmas Day. In my family, it has always been a tradition to open all of our gifts on Christmas morning. I sat on the couch with my mom, my two dogs with us, and my dad sat in

My Favorite Sport Is Basketball

Basketball is my favorite sport because I remember at a very young age of about three or four years old, in 1998, I first watched a National Basketball Association (NBA) game. I was watching when the Chicago Bulls was playing as I sat in the living room with my father and my uncles. I didn't know what they were talking about, but my eyes were glued to the television when I saw Michael Jordan dunked on two people. His performance gave me the motivation and I started playing basketball to make a career out of it. I wanted to move my family out of the poverty without any financial worries so I stared practicing each day. Every day as I was on the basketball court playing, I used to wake up early in the morning dribbled the basketball from my house to the basketball court and into the park. I was about fourteen years old about to go to high school so I was practicing to make the tryouts. It was the summer time like around July 2009 and at first, I wasn't good enough so, I told my mother that I needed a couch to work on my feet and left hand. She called one couch up and we had a one on one session to train me. After practicing, I went back to the courts and played a full court game with older and bigger guys. It was five on five and I was the youngest of them. I had a little jump shot, but I really had a back board shot. I was good with angles for a little man at that time, but I was only getting better. I started challenging grown men that were old enough to be my father. I lost some games, but won a lot plus my younger brother was always there with me. He used to stay on the sidelines watching because he couldn't play with me. Yet, he was too young at the time to...show more content...

My Favorite Christmas Season

"Are you serious Clark"? Is one of the famous sayings you'll hear my dad quoting throughout the Christmas season. Christmas is my absolute favorite season, and I do quite know the reason. Christmas was always filled with a lot of joyous experiences; my entire family always became so happy immediately after the Thanksgiving Holiday ended. My dad probably influenced me the most when it comes to Christmas; because the Christmas season was the only time his dysfunctional family unified. My favorite part about Christmas was all of the traditions my family had. The first one was watching the movie "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" on Thanksgiving night while starting to decorate the house for Christmas. My family and I never wasted any time on getting into the Christmas Spirit, but it really has never taken much for us to get into it. Usually, within the next day or two, we would go out in our front wheel drive sleigh and find that one perfect Christmas tree that was a "little full" and had "a lotta sap". Every year my dad would cut it down with the same dull saw that he said the previous year he was going to replace and it was always quite comical watching him cut the tree down; sometimes I thought it would have been faster if he just dug it out of the ground with his bare hands. If you have watched Christmas Gall 2

Orange Snowflakes Spring is my most favorite season of the year. The fresh rain hitting the window with a faint yet calming song like sound. The vibrant flowers blooming at the speed of light. The cool wind sweeping across the small freckles scattered across my petite nose. Bright Orange and White flashes covering the mildewy spring grass of The Lacrosse Field; the place I feel free to get away from the world, playing a game that for me, is like a day in the candle store. Understandably, the first couple of weeks were pretty slow because I was a new person. An alien invader. Although the more time I spent at practices, the more I got closer to the players. When the season came to end, the boys made me feel so apart of the team by asking if I would return next season because they were grateful I was there. With the love I have for these boys, how could I say no? 2016, my sophomore year. The year I would return to Lakewood Junior Varsity Lacrosse; The place I left my comfort zone. The place I really made friends for the first time in high school. The place I found what I really love. A sanctuary, the place we strive to be in the safety of our team. This season was ours and we weren't going to let anything stop us. Our first game was finally here. "We are LAKEWOOD!" Chanted the players running onto The Field, their safe place. With Jack Frost forcing his way onto anything and everything he can, the boys take their positions. Four 12 minute quarters, we got this. The bell screams indicating the start of the game. 'Clomp clomp clomp' the sounds of cleats smacking the cold, dead grass as the players rush to try to get a goal. About an hour of intense shots goes by and the game ends. Lakewood takes the win. Best Seasons I have two favorite seasons. My number one favorite season is summer. Then comes my second favorite season, which is spring. I don't have a third favorite season so we will just go with fall for my last choice. Each season has different traits that draws me to them, such as in the summer I get to spend a lot of time with my friends in the outdoors. Which in the spring you can do almost the same exact stuff it's just not as hot. But in the fall you can only do a limited amount of things as oppose to all the things in the summer or spring. My Favorite Sport: Football

Sports are my favorite pastime and I truly enjoy playing and watching almost any sport, but one sport holds a special place in my heart, and that is football. Growing up football has been a part of my life and I don't think I could live without it. When I was younger, I played little league football for three seasons while I was in elementary school; during that time playing football I played two positions, cornerback and running back. Although we always had a losing record, I enjoyed playing every second of the seasons. After the end of my third season playing little league football I did not play the sport until my junior year in high school. During my junior year in high school I started playing football once again at Airport High School. After not playing football for so long I had forgotten how physically taxing it was and was not in the best\ shape to really play that well; throughout the season I thought about quitting because I was not conditioned enough and was not playing as much as I would have liked. My first year back into football was not my best season but I still adored playing and getting back into the sport I love. My senior year of football was by far my favorite season of football in my life. During the season, I had my most memorable play, which was an interception that I took back for a touchdown, it is my most sentimental memories of football. All the brotherhood and chemistry built with team over my senior season brought us to an 11–2 record and a Get more content

What Is My Favorite Season Of Autumn

Bare Branches

When autumn begins the atmosphere is different, the air is crisp and the ground is crunchy with leaves. There's a heavy light that falls over the earth, red and orange light hit the hilltops just perfectly at sunset. The beauty in autumn is one I will never get over, the memories it brings when I feel the cold air hit my skin is all worth the leaves falling and showing their bare branches. Autumn is my favorite season because of the weather, the beauty it has, and the comfort it brings to me. Finally getting relief from the hot summer sun is one of my favorite reasons why I adore autumn. I'm always anxious waiting for the day I can shut off my air conditioner and open a window to reveal the sweat breeze. The neutral temperature is perfect for outdoor activities. Like grilling for a BBQ, taking a long walk or hike, or playing some games outside. Breathing in the natural air always feels amazing, it makes it easier. Sweating is not ideal, so when its autumn and the hot weather is finally gone I feel a sense of relief that I'm not drenched from head to toe. My favorite thing to do during fall is watch the leaves change colors, and then fall to reveal the beautiful bare branches. The vibrant colors that bounce off the leaves make my mood shift. My Favorite Month Of The Year

Oh, October, my favorite month of the year. For many reasons, October has my heart. It holds the peak of Autumn, my dearest season. It is full of festivities such as pumpkin carving, haunted houses, and of course the traditional dressing up on Halloween. It also holds a large amount of anticipation for Thanksgiving and Christmas, which is debatably better than the holidays themselves. This year, October holds these things along with much more for me. I have experienced a lot this October, but this month seemed to be the light at the end of the tunnel, which made a little sliver of light fall on some important parts of life; from learning the true importance of patience and trust, to coming face to face with love. Practicing patience has never been something I have been good at, in regards to anything, to be honest. Although I'm not very good at it, I usually try not to fret too much about how my life seems to be going or if things aren't going the way I want them to, because I trust that the universe will do what it needs to do in order to make me end up exactly where I'm supposed to be. I believe that the people who are meant to be in your life will always find their way back, no matter how far either of you may wander. I happened to wander 5 hours away from home, to a completely different state, yet it was still possible for this person to make their way back into my life, almost an entire year later. Up until this October, I had never experienced the idea of love that I

Almost all energy that determines the weather and seasons is solar energy. The amount of solar energy that reaches theEarth varies due to the path of the Sun in the local sky and the length of daylight. Since the Earth is in a constant elliptical rotation around the sun, the Earth is never stagnant. In fact, there are two rotations that the Earth is in at all times. The first is a once a day rotation on its axis and the second is a once per year revolution around the Sun. With the Earth always changing location, the weather is constantly changing due to the varying of its exposure to the Sun. According to the American Meteorological Society, other factors that contribute to the change of weather include nearness to bodies of water, topographical features, and migrations of weather systems. Also, the interaction of radiation with the Earth's atmosphere is another factor. Energy can be reflected and absorbed by the Earth's atmosphere, varying the actual amount of solar energy that reaches the Earth's surface. Due to these variables, it is not uncommon for weather to fluctuate despite the location of Earth on its rotation. The solar energy that reaches Earth also affects the water cycle. This cycle in turn affects the weather by producing rain, snow, cyclones, and other weather events. The biggest factor in not only the changing of weather but also the seasons, is the Earth's axis. The reason for different seasons is attributed to the Earth's axis.

My Favorite Coach

I have had many coaches throughout my life, some coaches have been good other not so good. My sports career started when I was three years old so I have had many different coaches coaches, my favorite coach I have ever had was my high school soccer coach. He is different from all the coaches I have had and he's my favorite coach because of the relationship we built and because he believed in me from day one.

My freshman year of high school Coach Specht was the assistant soccer coach, at tryouts he told me that I would have a bright future as a player and could possible play varsity as as a freshman. Throughout the year I keep putting in the time and finally half way through the season I got my chance to play my first varsity game. This...show more content...

That year we had twelve seniors and it was there last chance to play in front of the fans at home. At that time I was mad because I just loved to play and hated sitting but I understand why he did it.

The next season we improved a lot as a team because coach Specht made adjustments and fixed the problems we had the year before. That's what makes him a great coach because he was willing to adapt and be open minded to other ways of playing. Also he would ask the players what they thought about things, that is something I really liked because the players see the game different than the coaches. Before every game he would ask me what I thought about the lineup and what our game plan should be in the game. If we were having a bad game or if things weren't going the right way, I would be the first person he would come to find out what we need to fix. Having a coach that trusts a player this much is rare most coaches don't listen to what the players have to say.

At the beginning of my senior high school season my family was given the awful news that my mother had breast cancer and soccer was the only way for me to get it off my mind. I'm just thankful for my coaches and teammates for helping get through one of the toughest times in my life. Coach Specht was there for the whole time making sure I was alright. Even after the soccer season he was still there for me, thankfully now my

I think I spent the majority of the run in a trance state just me staring at his feet which felt like ages when in reality it was only 2 minutes. After overtaking him though, I started thinking about how crazy the human body is and again my body went into autopilot and my mind just started running through random scenarios that will never occur in real life and countless of retarded ideas like why do people color the sun yellow when if you stare at it it's a giant white ball when you stare at it. I wasn't the first in my family to love running either. My mom used to be a track star when she was around my age in Mexico where she would participate in Mexico's cities and regional championships. She was a sprinter however while I am a long distance runner. It is through her that I believe my talent and my passion for running comes from. Although my mom has never been to one of my meets, I always keep her in mind when I run, sometimes even when my mind reaches that meditative phase. The closest thing I can compare it to is when you would go for a really long bike ride and you get so engulfed by your environment, your body just automatically begins to pedal

Two years ago, my favorite football team the New England Patriots were having a pretty good season and they ended up doing so good that they made the playoffs. They kept it up in the playoffs and played just like they did in the regular season. The Patriots ended up going all the way to the Super Bowl. In the Super Bowl the Patriots were going to play the Seattle Seahawks. The Seahawks were also a really good team that year. The Seahawks were pretty good but I thought the Patriots were better. Me and my mom went to my uncle's house for a Super Bowl party that year. There were probably somewhere around twenty people at the Super Bowl party. There was a lot of food and things to do there but I was more focused on when the game was going to start. Once the game was about to start everyone found a seat and got ready for the game to begin. The game started off good, but neither team scored in the whole first quarter. The Patriots scored early in the second quarter and I thought it was going to be an easy win at the point for the Patriots. Towards the end of the second quarter the Seahawks also scored tying the game up. Then I knew the Patriots weren't going to win that easily and both teams were going to put up a fight throughout the whole game. With less than a minute to go in the second quarter the Patriots scored again making the score fourteen to seven. Then with only a couple seconds left in the quarter the Seahawks also scored once again tying the game. With the Patriots and Seahawks going back and forth I knew it was going to be a really good game and the Patriots were going to have to work extra hard to walk away with the win. So at halftime the score was tied up fourteen to fourteen, the Patriots and the Seahawks looked really even throughout the first half, but I still thought the Patriots were going to take the win. With the start of the second half the Seahawks got a field goal early. With that field goal the Seahawks were only winning by three by that point and I wasn't really worried. But later on in the third quarter the Seahawks scored a touchdown making the score twenty four to seventeen. With only fifteen minutes left to go in the biggest game of the year being down by ten didn't look good, but I

Fall, one of my favorite times of the year. Filled with changing colors, special holidays, pumpkins, and the best thing in the world, apple cider doughnuts. Every year me and my family spend one day to rake all the leaves together. We usually only do it that once and we almost never finish. But we enjoy ourselves all the same. This occurs on the same day every year, the day we go to the pumpkin farm. That day always started early. We would wake up, quickly get ready, then drive to Burnt Toast for breakfast. Just sitting there talking, and eating for awhile. After that we'd get back up and drive to Gobert's to begin the fun.

Only staying a little past lunch we would laugh, and play, and eat, and pick out our pumpkin. Then right before leaving we would stand in line for half an hour. Just to get a dozen freshapple cider doughnuts. Even though they had the same doughnuts inside the main store with a shorter wait. On the way home we divided all the doughnuts up between us.
