CLASS ACTS The ’70s Daniel Halloran ’73 is retiring from his position at Don Cesar Beach Resort. M. Kathryn (Garrett) Armistead PhD ’74 has been named Publisher for the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry of The United Methodist Church.
The ’80s Faith Maddy ’80 completed a two-year term as a member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Fundraising Professionals–St. Louis Chapter. Alex Kor ’83 has been appointed as President of the American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine. Emily (Hegman) Ehmer ’85 completed a PhD in Mass Communication at Indiana University’s Media School in May 2015. She is now teaching at Texas State University’s School of Journalism and Mass Communication. Lori Jean (Golichowski) Oei ’85 has joined Krieg DeVault LLP as a Partner in the firm’s Financial Institutions Practice Group. Jean will be responsible for counseling law firm clients regarding corporate, transactional, and compliance matters with a focus on the financial institutions industry. Mary (Bussinger) Fessler ’87 received the Professional in Destination Management certification from Destination Marketing Association International (DMAI). She also graduated from the Ohio Tourism Leadership Academy. Susan (Brummer) Sholtis ’88 was promoted to President of North American Operations for the animal-health company Merial.

The ’90s Shelley (Haskett) Huffman ’91 has accepted a new position with the Indiana Chamber of Commerce Foundation managing college and career readiness and other workforce initiatives. Julie (Russell) Dilts ’92 was promoted to Director, Regulatory Compliance at Roche Diagnostics Corporation in Indianapolis. Julie also served as the co-lead of Roche’s Women’s Leadership Committee and was named a 2015 HBA Rising Star by the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association. Sean Kane ’92 was the National Art Museum of Sports’ Artist of the Month for January 2016 in recognition of his paintings celebrating baseball. Matthew Lesh ’95 was hired by Local Motors of Chandler, Arizona, as Director of Mobility Systems. Cindy Simon Skjodt MS ’96 was appointed by President Obama to serve as a member of the United States Holocaust Memorial Council.
The ’00s Timothy Krueger MD ’01 was selected as one of the Twin Cities Rising Star doctors in the specialty of anesthesiology. The Rising Stars were featured in Minneapolis St. Paul Magazine’s annual Best of the Twin Cities special issue. Tanisha D. Willoughby ’01 was hired as the Associate Director of Compliance in Digital Education for Purdue University. Nathan Goldberg ’03 is now a Director in the national office at Grant Thornton LLP.
Christina (Laun) Fugate ’04 was named partner at Ice Miller. Jonathan Schmitz ’04 was named Partner with Emergency Medicine Specialists, PC. Josh Pedde ’04 MM ’06 became Indianapolis Children’s Choir Director in April. Andy Kemp ’05 has accepted an offer to become a Limited Partner with the investment firm Edward Jones. Jessica (Harbison) Weaver ’05 accepted a position at the University of California, Riverside as the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance Services. Jessica had been employed at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia, as the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance. Joey Wohlhieter ’05 was presented the Butler Parent Council’s 2016 Award of Excellence in recognition of outstanding work on behalf of students, parents, and families in his role as Administrative Specialist for the Department of Modern Languages, Literatures, and cultures. Michael Hole ’08 was named one of Forbes’ 30 Under 30 Social Entrepreneurs.
The ’10s Claire Couch ’11 is now Director of Strategic Marketing for Torchlite, a digital marketing company in Indianapolis. Caitlin Marra ’13 has been hired as a customer success specialist at Covideo, a company that specializes in email software. Anton Verbitskiy ’14 is now the Logistics Improvement Leader at Dow Chemical in Midland, Michigan. Camille Cousins ’16 was selected as one of 43 Woodrow Wilson Teaching Fellows for 2016— the program recruits both recent graduates and career changers with strong backgrounds in science, technology, engineering, and math and prepares them to teach in high-need secondary schools.
