How to fix Canon Printer Offline Mac Issue
Check the Printer Connection:
The first thing to check is your Canon printer's connection with your Mac. Ensure that your printer is turned on and connected to your Mac via a USB cable or Wi-Fi network. Also, check if your Mac is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your printer.
Restart your Printer and Mac:
Sometimes, the offline status issue can be resolved by restarting both your printer and Mac. Turn off your printer, disconnect it from the power source, and wait for a few minutes. Then, turn on the printer and reconnect it to the power source. Also, restart your Mac and check if the printer is online.
Update Printer Drivers:
If your Canon printer drivers are outdated, it could cause the printer to show an offline status on your Mac. To update the printer drivers, visit Canon's official website and download the latest version of the driver for your printer model. Once downloaded, install the driver on your Mac and restart your printer and Mac.
Reset Printer System:
You can also try resetting the printer system on your Mac to fix the offline issue. Go to System Preferences > Printers and Scanners. Then, right-click on the printer that is showing offline status and select "Reset Printing System." This action will remove all printers from your Mac, including their queues, print jobs, and settings. After resetting, add your printer again and check if it's online.
Check Printer Settings:
Ensure that your Canon printer is selected as the default printer in the Printers and Scanners settings on your Mac. Also, check if the printer is not set to "Pause" or "Offline." Go to System Preferences > Printers and Scanners and select your printer. If the printer is offline, click on "Resume" to bring it online.
