Good evening and welcome to the Butler Community College Foundation Annual Benefit Auction.
We are so glad you are here to help us raise funds that open doors for students pursuing higher education at Butler. This event is one of our most meaningful traditions and a powerful reminder of what happens when a community comes together to support opportunity, workforce preparation, and student success.
In my eight months at Butler Community College, I have seen firsthand the impact this college has across our region. I have met students balancing work and school, adult learners preparing for new careers, and high school students getting a head start on their futures. Each of them brings determination, talent, and big goals. Each of them benefits from the generosity and belief of this community.

You are champions of education and advocates for a strong future for our students and our region. Your presence tonight reflects your commitment to Butler and your belief in the life changing power of education. Your support helps provide access to affordable learning, hands on training, and pathways to meaningful careers. You are making that possible tonight.
I would like to extend heartfelt thanks to our honorary chairs, John and Jennifer Blickenstaff, along with the many individuals who make this evening possible. From our Butler Foundation team to our auctioneer, sponsors, donors, volunteers, faculty, and staff, this event succeeds because of the time, talent, and care so many contribute.
Enjoy the evening, connect with friends, and take part in the fun. One thing I have learned in my time at Butler is that this auction is never just business as usual. It is energetic, engaging, and thoughtfully designed to be a special experience each year. Our team puts in tremendous effort to make this event feel fresh, meaningful, and memorable, and I am deeply grateful for the care and creativity they bring to it. Every moment tonight supports Butler students and the communities they will go on to serve.
Thank you for being part of the Butler family and for making a difference.
Enjoy the evening,

Dr. Tamara Daniel President, Butler Community College

Jennifer and I are humbled to serve as the honorary chairs for the 2026 Butler Benefit Auction. This annual event is one of the most rewarding and successful charity events in the area and provides a huge support to the students it serves. The success of this event is a direct reflection of all of you, and your desire to promote education in our communities. With your support and the great work of the College and Foundation, many lives are touched, and an affordable path forward is possible.

Butler Community College provides an affordable path to better things. I don’t say this because it sounds good; I say this as we have lived it. Jennifer and I both attended Butler Community College on scholarships, earning our two-year degrees. We also met while students at Butler, so somewhat of a love story as well. We both appreciate the quality education we received at Butler, at a cost considerably lower than other area options. I personally could not afford college coming out of high school, and Butler provided the opportunity for me to get started. We both continued our education after Butler, receiving our degrees, and Jennifer a Master’s degree.
Our story, the stories of countless others, and the stories of many to come would not be possible without the generous contributions from all supporters of Butler. Your support does make a difference and creates value every day in the people of our communities.
I also want to thank the following for the work they do every day to develop, support, encourage, and guide students to a better path and a better future: Dr. Daniel, Butler Foundation staff, Butler Board of Directors, and all professors/instructors/coaches/admin staff. Thank you.
Lastly, we want to thank everyone in attendance tonight, other supporters who are not here this evening but have provided support and items for the auction, and to the supporters who are always here, always involved, and share in our mission to provide students with an affordable path to better things.
Fill your glasses, find your bid cards, and throw your hands in the air! Thanks in advance for your generosity!

Each time you place a bid on the starred line in the silent auction, you will be entered for a chance to win a $100 gift certificate for AVI Seabar & Chophouse and a one-night stay at the Drury Plaza Hotel Broadview. 3. Each silent auction item is posted on Text2Bid. Bid increments are shown. Click on the amount you wish to bid. You will receive a text if you are outbid on an item. A bidder may skip to a higher bid or to the Guaranteed Purchase amount. You can bid on silent auction items and give Pure Philanthropy beginning Friday, February 27.
4. Winning bidders who are not present at the live event will be contacted during the week of March 9th to arrange pick-up and delivery of items. The Foundation is not responsible for shipping costs and is unable to ship alcohol or perishable items.

Annika Wooton is an internationally recognized speed painter and two-time Miss Kansas (2019 & 2020), celebrated for her ability to merge fine art with live performance. Her work has been featured on stages and at events around the world, captivating audiences with bold movement, dramatic reveals, and striking visual impact.
During this evening’s program, Annika will create an original painting live, transforming a blank canvas into a finished work of art in real time. The completed piece, created exclusively for tonight’s event, will be offered in the auction, making it a true one-of-one collectible.

More than a painting, this artwork represents a moment experienced only by those in the room: the energy of the performance, the anticipation of the reveal, and the privilege of witnessing its creation firsthand. It is a rare opportunity to acquire an original work by a sought-after live artist whose pieces are admired for both their craftsmanship and their story.

Some pieces are beautiful because of how they are made. Others are extraordinary because of who made them.

This finely crafted walnut side table was created by John Prigmore, a 100-year-old Butler County craftsman, visionary architect, and lifelong contributor to our community. John’s influence is woven into the very fabric of Butler County—his architectural designs helped shape many of the buildings that still stand across the county, as well as on the Butler campus.
At an age when most people slow down, John continues to create. Known for his time in the woodshop and his meticulous attention to detail, he brings the same thoughtfulness and precision to furniture-making that defined his architectural career. This table reflects not only master craftsmanship but a lifetime of experience, curiosity, and care.
Made from rich walnut and designed to be both timeless and functional, this piece is meant to be used, admired, and passed down. It is furniture with a story—one rooted in generosity, creativity, and a deep commitment to place.
By donating this table, John reminds us that his impact has no expiration date and that passion, purpose, and contribution can remain vibrant at any stage of life. To own this piece is to hold a tangible connection to Butler County’s past, present, and future.

Born from tradition and brought to life by the skilled hands of Butler’s own Dean of Humanities, Troy Nordman, this one-of-a-kind handmade charro saddle is more than functional art. It is a legacy you can own.
Crafted from mesquite sourced in the heart of Jalisco, Mexico, the tree that forms its foundation was carefully shaped into a 15½-inch seat on quarter horse bars, offering both beauty and authentic performance. At the forefront stands a striking, wide Guadalajara horn, inspired by the rich equestrian heritage and finished in a traditional zurrón covering, an unmistakable hallmark of true charro craftsmanship.

Every inch of leather tells a story. Using only premium vegetable-tanned leather, Troy personally cut, hand-stamped, stitched, and assembled each component. No shortcuts. No machines. Only patience, precision, and pride. The result is a saddle that reflects timeless tradition and extraordinary dedication.
Whether displayed as a centerpiece, treasured as a collector’s item, or ridden as it was intended, this saddle represents authenticity, artistry, and the enduring spirit of the charro.
This is not simply a saddle. It is heritage, handcrafted. Donor: Dr. Troy Nordman

“I am going into the auto tech program this fall, and this scholarship will allow me to focus more on my studies. I chose auto mechanics because I’ve always loved working with my hands and solving mechanical problems. Fixing cars brings a real sense of accomplishment. I enjoy learning new things and want a career that’s both practical and in demand. After this year, I plan to open my own shop in my hometown of El Dorado, Kansas. Thank you!”

Thank you for your generous contribution as I continue my education in health professions.”
