Disney Looks Forward to a $75 Million Opening for its Weekend Box Office “Eternals”
Despite a star-studded cast and an Oscar-winning director, the new marvel and Superhero movie “Eternals” is expected to fall short of its predecessors when it gets released this weekend. Walt Disney Co. expects roughly $75 million opening in the weekend box office in North America. The weekend figures would make this new release the third or fourth biggest opening in 2021, close to Disney’s ” Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings”. Sony Corp.’s “Venom: Let There Be Carnage” at $ 90 million was the biggest debut this year, followed by “Black Widow” at $80 million. ‘Eternals” will be released only in theatres first like “Venom” and “Shang-Chi”, unlike Black Widow, which was released on Disney’s streaming service simultaneously.
