Opening Notes. The UK events industry is worth £42.3 bn and is starting to recover after the pandemic! With more than a year of COVI D-19 restrictions behind us, many event creators are now used to delivering events in increasingly innovative ways. And now that that lockdown restrictions have eased, we're seeing the return of in-person events. We as a business are very excited to have all of our shows running this year and we can't to help entrepreneurs, SM E's and people looking to become their own boss. As we overcome coronavirus, new business startups are expected to continue to grow, largely incentivised by low rates, tax reliefs and other expected government incentives to help kick-start the economy. Lockdowns have given citizens valuable time to think about their futures, or even make the leap to becoming their own boss. In this issue of Complete Business Magazine we'll be focusing on business startups and entrepreneurs. This month's exclusive interview comes from Dr Alka Patel from Lifestyle First, where she discusses workplace wellbeing. We'll also share some exclusive news and articles on starting a business and provide a case study on influencer, Montana Rose Brown! Our interactive features such as our webinar programme, hyperlinked adverts, and URLs to more exclusive content allow you to explore even more at your fingerprints. Ensure you make use of clickable content and explore our websites for the ful I low-down on everything happening before and at the main franchise and business show exhibitions.

New Recruitment agency in Yorkshire thrives during the pandemic CP Staffing and Events LTD was founded in January 2020, by Paul Evans and Tina Cahill, Co Founder's. As per many businesses during the pandemic that suffered, for CP Staffing and Events it looked like a non to slow start come March 2020! With only a few event clients, ready to support with staffing, it was extremely challenging as a new start recruitment business to get off the ground in 2020. The Business core sectors are inclusive of Catering, Hospitality and Events sectors; therefore, the business was technically a non-starter during the pandemic, with very little support from the government!

The agencies core candidates are familiar faces to many of their clients, providing that assurance of commitment and reliability, whilst having confidence that the job will be done to the highest standard. Our candidates are given opportunities to grow and develop as an individual through our branch, our clients or e-Learning training partner to maximise their potential, knowledge, and skills. The business prides itself on delivering the right recruitment solutions, that are tailored to the client, whilst ensuring the candidates have the relevant experience and training and can perform the role in hand to support the client's need and requirements in confidence. When it comes to large scale events, you will find the Co Founder and Managing Director, Paul Evans, on site with the clients and the Event teams, being hands on, not just at check in, but throughout the event until the very end, whilst Co Founder and Director Tina Cahill will be ensuring the business recruitment needs and staffing requirements are fulfilled in the branch with an experienced and supportive team.

Come July 2020, Paul and Tina decided to start browsing for offices in Leeds as they were then in shared offices, both partners had confidence that the business would start to pick up with the restrictions lifted, albeit a few months after moving into their new home, restrictions came in again and the new start suffered another setback. Moving forward to March 2021, the partners had a call from a Yorkshire Event Catering company, who has previously worked with Paul and Tina in the past, they enquired about staffing for support deep cleaning of all their event venue kitchens across Yorkshire!! Of course, the duo said yes and got their marigolds on along with a small team to clean over 50 commercial kitchens across the region and delivered the project in time ready for the uplifting of some restrictions in April 2021!

CP Staffing and Events are becoming a well-known and established Catering, Hospitality and Events Recruitment agency in Yorkshire, with a family but professional feel to the business culture. The key to their success in 2021, is that the partners and their teams hard work, work ethic and determination to succeed without compromise is at the forefront of the business. Not only is the business successful in what it does, it can demonstrate to clients and candidates that they uphold the highest standards within the industry, by being a fully accredited member of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) and abides by the 'Code of Professional Practice', Being part of this organisation, demonstrates the high quality and standards that they uphold in the recruitment Industry As the business continues to grow and develop, they are looking to expand the brand across the Northwest and South UK in 2022

Between April 2021 and August 2021, the business has grown tenfold, Working with local, regional, and national business in the industry, with over 500 active and registered candidates and working throughout August and September, and with growth within the office team growing from a team of headcount of 2 to headcount of 8 in matter of months, the pair are extremely proud of what they have accomplished in a short period of time and in difficult circumstances.

If you would like to know more about the business and service, and how they could support you and your business then please visit the team at Stand X or visit our website www.cpstaffing.co.uk for more information and send an enquiry before the Exhibition. Paul and Tina, look forward to meeting you at stand B1212 AT The Business Show 2021!

MONTANA ROSE BROWN Sv\ IJ\\ SOC I ET Montana Rose Brown burst onto the scene as a contestant on the 2017 series of ITV2's Love Island. Montana quickly established herself as the no-nonsense quick-witted face of the show and grew a big fan base from this. She is well-known amongst teenagers and young adults who contribute to her growing six-figure social media follower count. When the series of Love Island had finished, Montana quickly found herself as a firm favourite in the showbiz world and was snapped up by talent agents Roar Global. Myleene Klass, Pixie Lott and Lorraine Kelly are some other stars who use agent Roar Global. Within days of flying back to the UK, Montana appeared on shows including Loose Women and even went on to present a fashion stint for ITV's mid-morning primetime show This Morning. Then, thanks to her knowledge of the fashion world, she followed in the footsteps of Sofia Richie, Kylie Jenner and Stassie, to become the UK's first ambassador for one of the biggest fast fashion brands in the world, Pretty Little Thing.

Pretty Little Thing flew Montana to LA to shoot a show stopping campaign. This led to her launching her debut 50-piece collection for the brand.

''

Love Island was a great stepping stone for me to be thrown into the showbiz world but now is where the hard work begins. I'm hoping to forge myself a career that has longevity and it's a really exciting time for me.

''

Since then Montana continues to make headlines as a passionate feminist and fashion influencer, while encouraging her 1.3 million instagram followers to break toxic social boundaries and refrain from unhealthy expectations. This made her an ideal influencer to collaborate with for campaigns involving fitness, beauty and healthcare.

In 2020, Montana launched a Swim Society sustainable product range. This meant changing everything they had done before, learning new processes and understanding how this changes the brand. As of right now, they are proud to be using 97% recyclable material in all their products.

4. Can you give 3 mental health tips to people working from home? Keep active - just one minute of movement, on the hour every hour will keep your stress levels down and your endorphins flowing. Establish simple routines that don’t require self control such as taking 6 deep breaths to activate your relaxation centre before you start your work. Build a strong sleep schedule – all your emotional regulation takes place while you sleep so don’t sacrifice sleep to get just one more job done or one more email sent. Prioritise sleep so you can build your mental agility.

Does your workplace have a workplace wellbeing strategy? If no, then this is the place to start. And if yes, have you involved your workforce in creating this strategy? What are the values of the organisation? Know this. What do you value in your teams? Reflect on this. What do your employees need most from you? Ask them. What are your employees struggling with? Survey them. And use this data to create a workplace wellbeing strategy that is unique to you, your organisation and your employees. Use the 3 C’s: Care. Connect. Customise.

5. What advice would you give businesses who have remote workforces? It starts with caring. Every business now needs to be a caring business. Remote working offers business owners a wonderful opportunity to build trust with employees, to show employees how much you value them and in return reap the rewards of maximised productivity, minimised absence and greater retention.

Talk to franchisees A good franchisor will be happy to provide you with the contact details of current franchisees; if they are reluctant to put you in touch with existing franchisees, this is a red fiag to be aware of Try to get in touch with at least ten different franchisees and ask them a range of questions to help you get a better understanding of how the business works and what to expect if you invest in a franchise with this company

Some questions to ask include: - What are the pros and cons? - Are there any hidden costs? - What did you learn from becoming a franchisee that you hadn't learned from researching beforehand? - How much did you budget for your franchise, and how much did you end up spending? - How long did it take for you to turn a profit? - What was the most challenging part of building the business? - What is the hiring process like? - How supportive is the franchisor? - Would you recommend this franchise to a friend or family member wanting to get into the business?

Consider getting real-world experience Working in a franchise store is one of the best ways to see exactly how the business works from the inside, and it can be an ideal way to help you determine whether or not your personality is a good fit for the company culture. Some franchisors, such as Domino's, tend to favour franchise applicants who have worked their way up from the bottom, while others will only grant franchises to Some franchisors, such as Domino's, tend to favour franchise applicants who have worked their way up from the bottom, while others will only grant franchises to people who have worked for the chain for at least a few

years. Spending at least six months as a worker is a great way to gain some business experience before you become a franchisee. This inside experience will make it easier for you to make the right decision regarding the business you decide to buy

Hire professional help If you have accounting skills and feel comfortable reading a balance sheet, have negotiated legal contracts and insured business in the past, then you might not need to hire a professional. However. it's a good idea to have a solicitor and accountant assess the health of your business before you sign a contract. A good accountant will help you assess whether the numbers add up before handing over any money for the franchise fee.

Do a cost/benefit analysis Finally. once you've done all the research, spoken to some franchisees and gotten professional advice, old-fashioned pros and cons lists can be a significant final step in helping you determine whether a franchise is the best option for you and which franchisor to opt for. Write down the benefits that you'll be getting, such as an established brand, franchisor support, national marketing, and store design, and on the other side of the paper. write down the costs and liabilities such as your franchise fee, costs for marketing, and any equipment, inventory or merchandise you'll be required to buy.

f

Buying a franchise can be an excellent option for anybody wanting to start heir own business, with many advantages over starting ram scratch. But, there's still a lot of work that goes into eing successful, so make sure that you have considered these important factors before you invest.
