YOUR INVESTMENT
Funded by the Western Australian Government through Tourism Western Australia (Tourism WA), the City of Perth, and our valued member partners across the State, Business Events (BE) Perth has been securing high-value business events for Western Australia for over 50 years. These events attract international and national business travellers, delivering significant economic and legacy benefits for Western Australia.
Business events — including conferences, meetings, exhibitions, trade shows, and corporate and incentive (C&I) groups — are a cornerstone of both the visitor economy and the broader knowledge and trade economies. Business delegates typically spend up to five times more than leisure travellers, providing substantial year-round returns for Western Australia.
“Business events are important contributors to Australia’s visitor economy. Business events attract high-yield domestic and international travellers to and across Australia. Highyield travellers spend more than average on accommodation, food, services and experiences during their trips.“ - Tourism Research Australia
As Western Australia’s business events bidding specialist, BE Perth connects national and international planners with the State’s exceptional venues, experiences, and suppliers. To help secure events, BE Perth offers financial and in-kind support to organisers considering Western Australia as their host destination.
By Q3 of the 2024–25 financial year, BE Perth had secured more than 300 national and international business events scheduled through to 2032 — representing over $291 million in direct delegate expenditure (DDE). These events are expected to attract more than 70,000 delegates to Western Australia, with 74% aligned to the State’s priority growth sectors. The secured events range in scale from bespoke corporate groups of 20 delegates to large-scale conferences attracting over 3,000 attendees, with typical stays of three to six nights in local accommodation. In addition to these confirmed wins, BE Perth is managing more than 96 active bids for future events extending out to 2032.
From research and bidding through to delivery, BE Perth champions the interests of Western Australia’s vibrant business events supply chain, including hotels, venues, professional conference organisers, tour operators, AV providers, entertainment agencies, photographers, gifting suppliers, and more. Financial members benefit from exclusive access to BE Perth’s confirmed events calendar, business-to-business opportunities, bid support, and cooperative marketing activities.
Looking ahead, BE Perth will continue to adapt and innovate, attracting high-impact business events to Western Australia and delivering dedicated marketing programs that foster local industry growth.
KEY INITIATIVES AND PROGRAMS
Maximise your engagement in Western Australia’s business events market through BE Perth’s suite of membership benefits and key initiatives.
BID INVOLVEMENT
The BE Perth team is constantly identifying business events that have the potential to be hosted in Western Australia. Actively working with relevant organisations to bid for national and international events, Business Events Perth partners with its members to present competitive and innovative destination event proposals. This information is then presented to key decision makers, positioning Western Australia as the optimal destination for their future business event.
BUSINESS EVENTS CALENDAR
The Business Events Calendar is an exclusive, confidential resource available to financial members via the Partner Portal. It provides comprehensive details on upcoming business events secured for Western Australia, including event dates, venues, estimated delegate numbers, event descriptions, and organiser contact information. This
enables members to engage directly with organisers and promote their services at the right time in the event planning cycle.
DESTINATION MARKETING FUNDING AND CONFIDENTIAL LEADS
The team at BE Perth assists members in securing national and international business events through destination funding support. Depending on the type of business event, funding may cover marketing expenses to increase delegate attendance, hosting a site inspection with the key decision maker or even direct funding towards a local activity and supplier to support the staging of the event. BE Perth works confidentially in partnership with its financial members to assist in securing business events.
FAMILIARISATION PROGRAMS (FAMILS)
Familiarisations are hosted throughout the year to showcase Western Australia to national and international event planners. BE Perth invites qualified buyers to experience the State’s unique destinations, venues, and capabilities firsthand, helping to inspire future event decisions. These programs are a critical tool in bringing business events to the region by creating lasting impressions and connections.
SITE INSPECTIONS
Site inspections are tailored one-on-one programs designed for clients who are considering or have confirmed Western Australia for a future event. These visits allow planners to assess venues, meet with suppliers, and finalise logistics. BE Perth coordinates these visits and provides opportunities for relevant partners to engage, with participant selection guided by the client’s specific event requirements.
Year-to-date, BE Perth has organised 43 client site inspections, attracting 122 key decision makers to Perth and regional Western Australia.
TRADE SHOWS
BE Perth offers members valuable opportunities to showcase their business and promote Western Australia at leading industry trade shows and destination showcases throughout the financial year. These events take place both nationally and internationally, providing direct access to key decision-makers and potential clients.
As part of our commitment to supporting members, BE Perth secures booth space at strategically selected trade shows and offers a limited number of subsidised places for eligible members to attend. These platforms not only facilitate targeted networking, but also provide the benefit of BE Perth’s marketing and logistical support.
To further enhance member ROI, BE Perth activates its presence at major trade shows through bespoke, client-hosted events designed to foster deeper engagement with in-market clients.
With more than 24 members supported through subsidised participation, Business Events Perth delivered its largest-ever representation of Western Australian suppliers at AIME 2025.
MARKETING OPPORTUNITIES
BE Perth promotes member products and services through a broad range of marketing initiatives. These include a dynamic and regularly updated website, the Business Event Planners Guide, a digital, interactive directory of member offerings, and 3D virtual tours of key venues across the State. In addition, BE Perth invests in content development, such as photography and video, to showcase member experiences across national and international marketing channels.

ENGAGE WITH IN-MARKET REPRESENTATIVES

representatives based in domestic and international markets strengthen relationships with key national and global association and corporate clients. BE Perth offers a no-cost referral service to connect event organisers with suitable member products and services that align with their brief. This direct channel facilitates meaningful commercial opportunities for members and ensures organisers receive personalised, highquality recommendations based on their needs.
NETWORKING & EDUCATIONAL EVENTS
Throughout the year, BE Perth hosts a series of networking and educational events that bring together members, clients, and key stakeholders. These events foster collaboration, promote member offerings, and provide valuable insights into industry trends and opportunities. They also serve as a platform for knowledge exchange, relationship building, and showcasing innovation within the local business events sector.
Over 80 industry representatives attended the ‘Meet the Team’ educational in August, guiding members in best practices on how to maximise their membership benefits.
MEGA FAMILS
BE Perth’s mega famil initiatives serve as powerful platforms to elevate the organisation’s brand and amplify Western Australia’s global positioning as the ‘Dream State’ for business events. The flagship program, re-aWAken, was established to showcase the state to national and international decision-makers, while directly supporting event conversion for local industry members. By targeting qualified association and corporate clients, the initiative ensures alignment with client needs and maximises exposure for Western Australian suppliers. In 2024-25, the program expanded to deliver not one, but two major famil
experiences: BE-reWArded, held in November 2024 and tailored to corporate and incentive buyers from Southeast Asia, and re-aWAken, delivered in March 2025.
Twenty-four (24) clients attended 2024 BE reWarded famil and Thirty- six (36) the 2025 re-aWAken famil, which saw the potential of a combined business value of over $60 million in total direct delegate expenditure (DDE). Across the two famils, more than one hundred Western Australian members and suppliers were showcased with multiple opportunites for client networking and engagement.
