Trade mission to the Netherlands on vegetable production and processing May 20 – 24, 2012 This trade mission is organized by the Netherlands Council for Trade Promotion (NCH), Business Development Group (BDG) and Dutch Romanian Network (DRN) on behalf of NL Agency, part of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation of the Netherlands.

During your stay in the Netherlands you will learn about recent developments in Dutch agriculture and horticulture. You will visit several relevant business contacts, such as vegetable growers and processers. During the matchmaking sessions, in individual meetings you will meet Dutch consultants and suppliers of, for instance, horticultural equipment, vegetable seeds, fertilizer, crop protection, greenhouses, irrigation systems, machinery for plowing, planting and harvesting, and washing, sorting and packaging equipment. We will furthermore introduce you to relevant contact persons from the Dutch authorities and business community. A visit to an exhibition (Floriade, PLMA or FoodTech) is also included in the program.

With a 47 per cent market share, the Netherlands is the largest exporter of plant propagation material in Europe, particularly for ornamental horticulture, potatoes, flower bulbs, grass, vegetable seeds and tissue culture. • The Food Valley region, centred around the city of Wageningen, has a world-renowned research cluster in agrifood, life sciences, genomics, nutrition and health. Food Valley is the most authoritative agrifood and nutrition research centre in Europe, if not the world. Dutch horticulture propagation material, equipment, machinery and knowledge can help you increase the level and quality of your vegetable production.
Costs of participation This trade mission is financed by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation of the Netherlands. Therefore, we will cover all collective costs in the Netherlands, such as hotel stay, collective transport and airport transfer, lunches and working dinners for the duration of the trade mission. Expenditures for travel to the Netherlands, such as your ticket and visa costs, and any costs related to individual activities in the Netherlands or a prolongation of your stay are at your own expense.
