My knowledge of how to succeed in business grew over several years spent interviewing around 100 leading entrepreneurs for my 16 book series, ‘Secrets Exposed’, and also by establishing and running three successful million dollar businesses of my own. And by 2009, it became clear to me that the business landscape was changing dramatically.

Traditional ways of doing business were being increasingly challenged and overturned by opportunities emerging through the online world.

The good news for smaller businesses was that suddenly the playing field was becoming

a whole lot more level.

But I could see that many business owners didn’t know how to compete and thrive in this unprecedented new era.

Not having this information made their business more vulnerable. But having it could be the catalyst for tremendous success.

With this in mind, we built the fast-track Business Blueprint program to equip business owners with the latest tools, insights and resources so they could flourish.

DEAN PAYN’S STORY “THERE’S NO ONE WHO GIVES ME FUEL AND ENCOURAGEMENT LIKE MY BUSINESS BLUEPRINT COMMUNITY”

I

t was September 2011 when I went along to a New Rules of Business event in New Zealand run by Dale. And by the end of the day, the entrepreneurial fires in my heart were just exploding. I walked out of there and thought, “It’s now or never”. So six weeks later, we launched our business and went hard at it.

We now employ 10 staff with 2 of them working virtually. We’ve even bought out a competitor’s business and in 10 months, two joint ventures have been formed.

We started in one of the bedrooms at home with one staff member.

They are expanding into South Africa and the UK. We’re so excited. It’s going to go places.

At each conference I came away with motivation, strategy and a 90 day plan so I knew exactly what I had to do to make it work.

We fast grew out of being able to work from home and eventually started The Crate – the only shared office in our city.

It’s been an amazing success. Over eight businesses and 20 staff share this space.

In 2.5 short years, I’ve created 3 new businesses, doubled turnover year on year and gained 163 new clients!

One of these has been between one of the other businesses and us. As a result of this, a large franchise with 120 sites will be using our software.

When I reflect on the past 2 1⁄2 years, there are a number of people I need to thank. I’ve got to thank Dale and Katherine for Business Blueprint. And all the people there who’ve highfived me. There’s no one who gives me fuel and encouragement like my Business Blueprint community. I also want to thank my family, and my staff.

I feel right now we’re going places we could never dream of going alone.

BY INBUILT ACCOUNTABILITY At the end of each of the 4 conferences you’ll attend, you’ll leave with a 90 day action plan that breaks down what you’ve learned into clear, doable steps.

You’re also seated at a table of 8 people at each event. At it, you’ll commit to complete what you agreed to in your 90 day plan.

What’s more, you’re paired with an Accountability Partner, with whom you’re encouraged to make contact with, on at least a weekly basis. It’s worth noting the findings of Robert Cialdini, a US psychologist and author who is highly regarded for his theories on influence and persuasion.

He argues that each of us has a strong desire to be consistent. And his research shows that when you outwardly commit to a goal or action, you are much more likely to complete it.

TYRON HYDE’S STORY “IN 12 MONTHS, OUR NET PROFIT GREW BY 72%”

F

rom my first Business Blueprint conference, I came away feeling really fired up. I started advertising on Facebook straight away and took our company ‘likes’ from 3,000 to over 11,000 in just 17 months.

I also met a lot of great people. For instance, at my second conference, I met Tyrone who does video marketing. He helped me launch our YouTube channel.

Together we’ve made around 20 videos which have had 65,000 views. I think this is pretty cool for a quantity surveying company talking about property depreciation.

Other changes I’ve made as a result of Business Blueprint were to convert our old website into an SEO friendly website that I can update myself.

I also now have a virtual assistant helping me out.

But the biggest achievement was writing my book called ‘Claim It’. It’s

been great for marketing, and when it came out, things really took off.

I’ve been featured in Money Matters Magazine and on Sky Business News.

In the first 12 months since joining Business Blueprint, our turnover increased by 14%, resulting in a net profit gain of 72%. That’s pretty cool for a business like mine that has been around for 30 years.

But Business Blueprint doesn’t just focus on business. A number of motivational speakers also present.

One of these inspired me to think about my ‘bucket list’ and on top of this was to run the New York Marathon. So I trained for it, then I did it.

It’s been an amazing 12 months and a part of this has been to do with Dale and the Business Blueprint team. So thanks for that. The only problem now is... what’s next?
