WELCOME TO THE SUMMIT
Dear Friends,
Welcome to the 12th annual Utah Economic Summit, the state’s premier event for business leaders and decision makers. The Summit is the ideal venue to gather the tools for professional and personal success. It delivers exclusive insights on Utah’s accomplishments to date and on how you can get involved and contribute to one of the nation’s best performing economies.
Utah has achieved a number of important successes in recent years. In 2017, U.S. News & World Report named Utah the most stable economy, and Forbes named Utah the No. 3 best state for business. We have the third fastest-growing population, and CEO Magazine ranked Utah No. 1 in the nation for workforce quality. Small business owners gave Utah an A+ in business friendliness in a survey conducted by Thumbtack.com. In every survey since 2012, Utah has ranked in the top five. Utah has become one of the best performing economies and consistently ranks high for job growth. In Feb. 2018, our job growth rate of 3.2 percent was among the highest in the nation.
In an era of economic change and political divide, this Summit will challenge you to collaborate with other attendees and business leaders to build strategies for growth. As you participate in the Summit, you’ll have the opportunity to connect with thought leaders, experts, innovators and other entrepreneurs to build your businesses while contributing to Utah’s ongoing success.
Our keynote speaker is Mitch Lowe, CEO of MoviePass, co-founding executive at Netflix and former President of Redbox. Lowe will draw from his experience to show how to simplify your business and create a winning culture.
Together, we will celebrate and create business strategies to reach new heights. I am confident you will leave this Summit with a new vision to elevate your business the Utah way.

A GREAT PLACE FOR BUSINESS AND SO MUCH MORE
Utah is a great place to do business. With its varied and robust economy, unmatched workforce, and breathtaking landscapes, it is the ideal place for a company to call home – something we have done for nearly 40 years.
While it’s important for every business to increase sales, provide good jobs, and find ways
to innovate, it’s also important that we give back to the communities where we live, work, and play.
As we continue to grow and experience success, we increase our capacity to do good, to lift our communities, and to make the world a better place for everyone. It’s not just good business, it’s the right thing to do.
