Welcome to the 11th annual Governor’s Economic Summit. Now in its second decade, this event has proven to be a valuable learning and networking experience for businesses of all sizes.

Utah has a dynamic economy that took the No. 1 spot in Kauffman’s 2016 Index of Growth Entrepreneurship for the second year in a row. We have one of the most diverse and resilient state economies, with the broadband and transportation infrastructure to match. Our workforce is young, healthy, hardworking, and educated. We’re the most businessfriendly state in the nation, as Forbes, CNBC and other thought leaders attest. All of this underscores the theme of this year’s summit – Opportunity.

As the summit breakouts demonstrate, Utah offers diverse opportunities in disruptive technology, diversification, digital media, human capital and the “generational growth” represented by such projects as Point of the Mountain, the Northwest Quadrant, and Falcon Hill. Governor Gary R. Herbert has led Utah’s recovery from the Great Recession to a position of national economic prominence. His unwavering focus on economic development includes attracting businesses and investment to the state while helping homegrown businesses flourish.

The governor is focused on four cornerstones to strengthen Utah’s economy: education, jobs, energy, and self-determination. As a result, Utah has become a premier destination for business, jobs, and an unsurpassed quality of life.

As Utah’s 17th governor, he took the oath of office on August 11, 2009. Prior to becoming the state’s chief executive, Governor Herbert served as lieutenant governor for five years. He is the past chair of the Western Governors Association and National Governors Association.

President, American Enterprise Institute

Arthur C. Brooks is president of the American Enterprise Institute. Before joining AEI, he was the Louis A. Bantle Professor of Business and Government in the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University. Prior to his work in academia and public policy, he spent 12 years as a classical musician in the United States and Spain. Dr. Brooks is a contributing opinion writer for the New York Times and the bestselling author of 11 books, including his 2015 New York Times best seller The Conservative Heart: How to Build a Fairer, Happier, and More Prosperous America.

Associate Dean, University of Utah David Eccles School of Business and and Director, Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute

Natalie Gochnour is an associate dean in the University of Utah David Eccles School of Business and director of the Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute. She also serves as chief economist for the Salt Lake Chamber. During her years of public service, Gochnour advised Utah governors Norm Bangerter, Mike Leavitt and Olene Walker. She served as an associate administrator at the Environmental Protection Agency and counselor to the secretary at Health and Human Services under the George W. Bush administration. She authors regular columns in Utah Business magazine and the Deseret News and co-hosts the weekly radio program Both Sides of the Aisle on KCPW.

MICHELLE SUZUKI

Chief Marketing Officer, RizePoint

Michelle Suzuki is the chief marketing officer of RizePoint, responsible for all aspects of the company’s marketing efforts – including brand, communications, demand generation, and product marketing. A 23-year veteran of technology marketing, Suzuki has led worldwide marketing initiatives at renowned technology companies including Ancestry, EMC, Novell, and LANDESK. She has been recognized with numerous awards, including 2017 Sales & Marketer of the Year from Utah Business Magazine and 2016 Marketer of the Year from the Utah Marketing Association. Suzuki holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications from Brigham Young University.

HANNAH ELSAKR

Vice President, America’s Business Operations, eBay

Hannah Elsakr is vice president of operations for eBay North America. Hannah is passionate about partnering with small business owners, brands and retailers to make their business come alive on eBay. Hannah oversees eBay’s Canada and Latin America businesses, the expansion of U.S. exports into global markets, U.S. operations management, and strategic partnerships for the Americas. She previously held roles in global strategy in the U.S. and European strategy in London and Zurich. Prior to joining eBay, Hannah held GM and strategy roles at Del Monte Foods and Avon Products. She also served as an advisor to clients during her tenure at McKinsey & Co. and JP Morgan.

Devin Thorpe was a finance guy until he realized life wasn’t all about the money. Now, he calls himself a champion of social good. He travels extensively as a volunteer, as a journalist and as a speaker. As a Forbes Contributor, he covers social entrepreneurship and impact investing, reaching over 1 million. He’s produced over 800 episodes of his Your Mark on the World show featuring luminary change agents. His books—read over 1 million times—help people use money for good. Lifetime Achievement Award

Gary Heward ----------

Gary has been owner and president of Liberty Mountain for almost 14 years now. After graduatingwith an MBA from Stanford Business School in 1981, he has worked almost his entire career in entertainment and recreation industries.

Gary’s love for the outdoors started as a 12 year old boy scout on a 50 miler, partly on the John Muir Trail out of Tuolumne Meadows. He had a 52 pound pack with no frame, filled with cans of Dinty Moore stew and Nalley’s Chili. His “technical” clothing consisted of Converse All Star tennis shoes and Levis, as well as a sweat shirt for when it got cold. He had no pad or tent and only a cheap flannel sleeping bag. Over the course of the trip it snowed a couple of nights and the ground was hard and cold. Despite not knowing what the heck he was doing, he came backfromthe trip with a love of backpacking and the outdoors. Annual backpacking trips have been a tradition ever since, although usually without the Dinty Moore and with a little better gear prep!

Hafsa Abdikadir came to the U.S. as a refugee at the age 17. In 2001, she became a caseworker for the Catholic Community Services of Utah where she used her multilingual skills to interpret for incoming refugees. Upon earning a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Utah College of Nursing, she began working as a nurse for Lone Peak Hospital in labor and delivery. Abdikadir uses her multilingual skills to raise awareness about the ongoing issues associated with women’s health. She is also a proud wife and mother of two boys.

Alton Alexander

President, Front Analytics

Alton is the president of Front Analytics Inc, a professional services and coaching firm. Companies work with Front Analytics to accelerate their learning from big data and to integrate sources of continuous insights. Alton is also an adjunct faculty at the University of Utah and teaches the Data Science and Big Data Analytics course for students in the Masters of Information Systems. His exposure to a breadth of companies and technologies helps add color to the landscape of technical challenges and creative approaches necessary for successful analytics. Alton lives in downtown Salt Lake City. In 2016 he took his wife and three kids on a mountain biking adventure through 9 national parks including two in Canada.

Brett Allred

President and CTO, NUVI

Brett Allred, President & CTO at NUVI, has been integral in the growth of NUVI. Brett was recruited by the investment firm McColee Partners in 2014 to help the young startup become a player in the social media analytics space. He has played a critical role scaling the business both from an operational and technical perspective. NUVI’s success is in part due to his vision and direction as a local business leader.

Jeremy Andrus

President and CEO, Traeger Wood Fired Grills

Jeremy Andrus is the president and CEO of Traeger Wood Fired Grills. He joined Traeger in 2014 and acquired the business with Trilantic Capital Partners in July of that year. From 2005 to 2013, Jeremy served as president and CEO of Skullcandy, where he helped grow annual sales from less than $1 million to nearly $300 million. Jeremy received his MBA from Harvard Business School and BA from Brigham Young University. He lives in Salt Lake City with his wife Kristin and their six children.

Nick Baguley

Founder, Evolve Steam

Nick Baguley is a Co-Founder of Hackers|Founders Utah (HFUtah.com). As one of the earliest co-founders of a HUG (Hadoop User’s Group) in the US and as an entrepreneur, Nick has influenced and helpped create the rising wave of Big Data and Analytics in Utah. He has been heavily involved in the Big Data Hubs and the National Data Science Organizers (NDSO) group from the White House. He has created and co-organized many large conferences and competitions. He is now creating an International STEAM Innovation District that will help lead smart cities and data initiatives. Nick has acted as an advisor to Universities, Non-Profits, Corporations, Startups, and Individuals for years.

Priyanka Bakaya

Founder and CEO, PK Clean

Priyanka Bakaya is the CEO and founder of PK Clean, a company that converts landfill-bound plastic waste into high value fuels such as diesel. The company is headquartered in Salt Lake City. Priyanka has previously worked at venture capital firms Accel Partners and Globespan Capital, as well as with DFJ-backed Attero Recycling. Priyanka has been selected as a World Economic Forum Global Shaper and a Lightspeed Venture Fellow. Fortune magazine ranked her among the 40 Under 40 Ones to Watch, and Forbes magazine named her to the 30 Under 30 in Energy list. Priyanka graduated from the MIT and Stanford University with honors.

Todd Bingham

President and CEO, Utah Manufacturers Association

Todd R. Bingham serves as the President and CEO of the 110-year-old Utah Manufacturers Association. Prior to UMA, he was the President of the Utah Mining Association. Todd has been involved in trade associations for more than 20 years and has served as a registered lobbyist representing business and industry in public policy and governmental affairs. Todd has served on several boards including the Utah Labor Commission, Occupational Safety and Health Employer Advisory Board, Governor’s Economic Council, Governors Rural Partnership Board and State Board of Education Nominating and Recruiting Committee.

Bert Blaha is a 31 year veteran of Intel Corporation and the Co-Executive Officer of IM Flash Technologies LLC, a joint venture formed by Intel and Micron Technology Inc. to manufacture world-class memory products. Brock Blake CEO, Lendio

Jeff Burningham

Jeff Burningham is a managing partner and founder of Peak Capital Partners, a $1.5B+ real estate investment firm in Provo. Most recently, Jeff launched Peak Ventures, which has two seed stage funds that back entrepreneurs in Utah and throughout the U.S. He began his career as the founder of Mindwire, a technology company he later sold to a NASDAQ-listed company. He sits on the boards of several disruptive Utah companies and non-profit organizations, and he also served as co-managing partner of BoomStartup. Raymon Burton

Executive Director, RefugeeOne

Raymon Burton has been involved in refugee resettlement in various capacities for the last five years. He recently worked with the LDS Church in developing their refugee initiatives. He spent half of 2016 embedded within the International Rescue Committee in an effort to better understand the refugee resettlement process. He is currently the Executive Director of RefugeeOne, an NGO funded by Roger Boyer that assists individuals with a refugee background in achieving prosperity through higher education. In this position, Raymon oversees RefugeeOne’s efforts to provide holistic scholarship funding and preparation for internships and employment with a clear career ladder.

Joel Clark

Joel Clark is president and owner of Kodiak Cakes. Beginning with an old family recipe for whole-wheat hot cakes, the company officially launched in 1995.

Chris Conabee

Founding Principal, Utah Develpment and Construction

Christopher M. Conabee is the founding principal of Utah Development and Construction. He also serves as co-chair of the Point of the Mountain Development Commission, a body established in 2016 by the Utah legislature to construct a vision of growth for the Point of the Mountain area while preserving the state’s quality of life. Prior to his current role, Chris was the founder and principal of Paladin Development Partners, a Park City real estate development firm. Troy D’Ambrosio

Executive Director, Lassonde Entrepreneur Institute, University of Utah

Troy is the executive director of the Lassonde Entrepreneur Institute, assistant dean at the David Eccles School of Business and holds a Presidential Chair in Entrepreneurship at the University of Utah. The Lassonde Institute has been consistently ranked as one of the best 25 programs for entrepreneurship in the nation by the Princeton Review, currently ranked no. 17 among graduate programs and no. 24 among undergraduate programs. Martha Dreiling is the vice president of operations at OnDeck. Martha oversees all aspect of operations, including loan originations and servicing, fraud strategy, sales, and operations training. Theresa Foxley is president and CEO of the Economic Development Corporation of Utah (EDCUtah). Prior to joining EDCUtah, Theresa served as deputy director of the Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED), where she oversaw the business development functions of incentives, government contracting, bonding and business resources. Foxley worked with dozens of companies on expansion and relocation projects, including Goldman Sachs, Vista Outdoors, Procter & Gamble, Solar City and Stadler Rail. Starr Fowler is the senior vice president of human resources at Vivint Smart Home. Throughout her 15-year career, Starr has helped maximize profitability and performance for organizations by aligning strategy and people; driving engagement initiatives; leading organizational transformations; and identifying, developing and promoting top talent for companies such as AMEC, Honeywell, Boart Longyear and Vivint Smart Home. At Vivint, Starr serves as a key member of the executive management team and sets the people vision and strategy for more than 9,000 employees. Lara is director of the Salt Lake City Department of Economic Development, where she oversees the Salt Lake City Redevelopment Agency, Salt Lake Arts Council, and business development. Lara brings over 20 years of experience in economic development, management and technology. Her experience includes serving as president and CEO of the Annapolis Economic Development Corporation, where she founded the award-winning Maryland Economic Development Association. Alex Gross

For over 15 years, Alex Gross has helped build and market dozens of online businesses. He got his start by generating online leads for personalized luxury ski vacations, and subsequently branched out as a product manager and marketing expert in multiple online categories including outdoor gear, medical supplies and luxury goods. For the past 18 months, he managed the marketing and analytics teams for jewelry retailer, Ice.com. In February, he became vice president of marketing for DirectBuy, following Directbuy’s acquisition by Ice.com’s parent, CSC Generation.

Kari Grover

Human Resource Manager, Hexcel Corporation

Kari Grover is a human resources manager at Hexcel Corporation in Salt Lake City. She has a master’s degree in human resources from Utah State University and has been with Hexcel for more than five years. She served as part of the team that developed the Utah Aerospace Pathways program. Val Hale

Val Hale is the executive director of the Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED), which promotes state growth in business, tourism and film. Hale was appointed to the position in 2014 by Gov. Gary R. Herbert. Before accepting the position, Hale served for two years as president and CEO of the Utah Valley Chamber of Commerce. Prior to the Chamber, Hale served in various capacities at UVU for seven years, playing a key role in transitioning Utah Valley State College into Utah Valley University. Before his career at UVU, Hale worked 22 years for the Brigham Young University (BYU) Athletic Department, ultimately serving as its director beginning in 1999.

Michael Janda

Michael founded the creative agency Riser in 2002 following his service as a senior creative director at Fox Studios. In 2015, Riser merged with Eli Kirk becoming the “R” in the newly branded agency EKR. Jay Kinghorn

Communications & Digital Strategy Director, Utah Office of Tourism

As Director of Communications and Digital Strategy, Jay Kinghorn leads the strategy and development of the Utah Office of Tourism’s content, social and digital marketing initiatives. His team’s work was recently recognized with an HSMAI gold award for “future proofing” their digital platforms and the office’s mobile marketing strategy was featured in a Google case study on mobile excellence. Prior to joining the Utah Office of Tourism, Kinghorn was a freelance author, speaker and trainer, where he helped businesses refine their visual storytelling, artists create new business models in emerging marketplaces and photographers harness new tools to empower their craft.

Ted Knowlton

Deputy Director, Wasatch Front Regional Council (WFRC)

Before joining WFRC, Ted was the Planning Director at Envision Utah — an organization referred to as the “gold standard” of regional visioning. Ted is an Adjunct Professor in the College of Architecture + Planning at the U of U and is the president of the American Planning Association Utah Chapter. He holds a Masters in Urban and Regional Planning from Portland State University. Experience includes planning efforts in Chicago, Denver, LA and SLC. These efforts garnered two prestigious Daniel Burnham awards from the American Planning Association. In SLC, Ted lead the original development of the Wasatch Choice for 2040 vision, the metropolitan area’s officially adopted four-county vision.

Ashley Langell

M.D., M.S. Student, University of Utah School of Medicine

Ashley Langell is a student at the University of Utah School of Medicine and is currently taking time off between her third and fourth years to obtain a master’s degree in bioengineering. Ashley has a long history of research and has worked on various projects with the university’s surgery, emergency medicine, engineering and pediatric oncology departments. She was drawn to the field of biomedical innovation by the potential for quick translation of ideas and research into functional solutions. She has worked on interdisciplinary teams to develop several medical devices and is particularly interested in improving healthcare affordability and accessibility through medical device innovation.

Tema Laussen

Executive Director, Do Good Foundation

Tema Laussen is the executive director of the Do Good Foundation for InsideSales.com. Prior to that, she was an associate director of major gifts at LDS Philanthropies for 11 years, facilitating donations to Brigham Young University – Hawaii, Polynesian Cultural Center, and all other LDS Church fundraising initiatives. She earned a master’s degree in business from BYU and loves the real estate investment game. Her hobbies include playing tennis, singing in a traveling gospel choir, karaoke with family, and planning family reunions.

Mel Lavitt

Senior Advisor, Needham and Company, LLC

Mel’s career in investment banking has included hundreds of capital market transactions accounting for several billion dollars of equity and debt financing. He was vice chairman and managing director of C.E. Unterberg, Towbin, when it was purchased by Collins Stewart, LLC in 2007. At that time, Mel formed Lavitt Group, LLC to advise private and public companies in finding and securing financing, structuring and negotiating investment terms and advising on investor marketing strategy. In 2009, he became a senior advisor with Needham and Company, LLC. Mel serves on a number of private company boards and as chairman of the board of directors at the Governor’s Office of Economic Development.

Chris Lee

President, Deseret Digital Media

Chris Lee is the president of Deseret Digital Media. Previously, he served as publisher of the Deseret News and general manager of DeseretNews.com. Prior to joining Deseret Media Companies, Chris was CEO of Heritage Makers, an on-demand publisher of photo products. He also worked as director of new business development for Ancestry.com. Chris serves as a member of the Salt Lake Chamber Board of Governors and on the board of ChatBooks. Outside of work you can find Chris with his wife Kristen watching or coaching his kids in some kind of sport.

Scott Marty

Scott focuses on various aspects of biotechnology patent prosecution and patent litigation, including post-grant proceedings under the AIA. Leader of the patent group’s biotechnology practice team, and a member of the pharmaceutical practice team. Dr. Marty has experience in all aspects of domestic and international patent prosecution, client counseling, prelitigation analysis and litigation relating to the biotechnical, chemical and pharmaceutical fields. He also has experience working with clients in reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating intellectual property-based issues as well as performing and providing detailed financial analysis.

Alan Matheson

Executive Director, Utah Department of Environmental Quality

Alan Matheson, Jr., was confirmed as executive director of the Utah Department of Environmental Quality in 2015. He also serves as senior environmental advisor to Gov. Gary R. Herbert, a position he has held since October 2011. Matheson previously served as executive director of Envision Utah, where he facilitated public processes to help communities address development and natural resource challenges in a way consistent with science, economic realities and public values. Throughout his career, Matheson has organized and managed stakeholder groups, facilitated broad public involvement, and helped bring divided communities together to solve controversial and complex challenges.

Derek Miller

President and CEO, World Trade Center Utah

Derek B. Miller is president and CEO of the World Trade Center Utah, an organization dedicated to helping Utah companies think, act, and succeed globally. Prior to his current position, Derek served as chief of staff to Gov. Gary R. Herbert. Derek also served as managing director of the Governor’s Office of Economic Development, where he was responsible for recruiting new businesses to the state and helping existing Utah businesses to expand. Before moving back to his home state of Utah, Derek worked in Washington, D.C., for the U.S. House of Representatives as legal counsel and for Arthur Andersen as a management consultant.

The company solves the issue of having gaps in brick and mortar data by providing sales, market share, e-commerce search engine optimization, advertising return on investment, and more. Spencer worked for Walmart, Amazon and Black & Decker prior to starting One Click.

Blake Modersitzki

Managing Partner, Pelion Ventures

Blake is a farm boy from Idaho. He started his career with WordPerfect Corporation in 1989 living in both New York City and Seattle before settling in Utah to work at the corporate headquarters. His experience at WordPerfect included sales, marketing, product management and global channel development. `In 1994 Novell acquired WordPerfect, and Blake continued his career with Novell as vice president of corporate development. In 2002 Blake left Novell to create what has become Pelion Venture Partners. The firm manages over $1 billion in capital. Blake has been involved at the board level with both public and private companies.

Michael O’Malley

Marketing Director, Governor’s Office of Economic Development

Since September 2011, Michael O’Malley has served as marketing director for the Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED). Prior to joining GOED, he served as marketing and communications manager for USTAR, the Utah Science Technology and Research Initiative. He has more than 30 years of experience in the technology, recreation, non-profit and financial services marketplaces. Prior to beginning his work for the state of Utah, Michael worked for General Electric for 14 years in corporate payment processing and computer leasing. In his spare time, he is a lacrosse referee, a Deer Valley mountain host, and a licensed Idaho whitewater river guide.

Jake Pantone

Jon Pierpont

Executive Director, Department od Workforce Services

Jon Pierpont is the executive director of Utah’s Department of Workforce Services and serves in the cabinet of Gov. Gary R. Herbert. Appointed in December 2012, Jon oversees a $1.5 billion budget and a department tasked with administering federal and state programs, including workforce development, public assistance programs, refugee services, housing and community development, and services for the disabled community. He currently serves on the executive board of the National Association of State Workforce Agencies withs more than 25 years’ experience. Prior to serving as the executive director, he was the deputy director, eligibility services division director and led the department’s largest service area.

Tami Pyfer

Education Advisor to Gov. Gary R. Herbert

Tami Pyfer is the Education Advisor to Gov. Gary R. Herbert. Appointed in January of 2014, she advises the governor on education policy and other public and higher education issues and assists the governor as he leads his Education Excellence Commission. Previous to her appointment, Tami served four years on the State Board of Education representing Cache Valley and other northern Utah communities. For 10 years, she worked as a clinical instructor at Utah State University, teaching a variety of courses in the teacher preparation program. Tami is passionate about education and about improving experiences and outcomes for Utah’s students.

Todd Reece

Partner, Ballard Spahr

Todd Reece is a partner in Ballard Spahr’s Salt Lake City office and a practice leader of the Emerging Growth and Private Capital Group. Todd is an experienced corporate attorney who advises clients on general business matters, mergers, acquisitions, financings (venture and private equity), securities, joint ventures, licensing matters, and other business transactions. He assists both public and private companies with corporate governance, internal investigations, audits and compliance matters, including Foreign Corrupt Practices Act compliance and reviews. Todd received his J.D. from Creighton University School of Law and his B.S. from Brigham Young University Marriott School of Management.

Steve Sands

Director, Business Transformation, Rio Tinto-Kennecott

Steve Sands has been at Kennecott Utah Copper since 2005. Steve is the chairman of the Utah Air Quality Board, and chairman of the Utah Clean Air Partnership (UCAIR). He is also co-chair of the Natural Resources Business Council for the Salt Lake Chamber, and has held national and local leadership roles in the Air and Waste Management Association, Utah Pollution Prevention Association, and American Institute of Chemical Engineers. Steve is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Utah, has a Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering, a Masters degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering, and a Masters degree in Business Administration.

Roger Shumway

VP and Strategic Alliance Officer, Celtic Bank

Roger Shumway is a vice president at Celtic Bank specializing in small business financing. Celtic Bank, headquartered in Salt Lake City, was started in 2001 and has quickly risen to a top-10 nationwide SBA lender. Roger has worked at Celtic Bank in a variety of capacities, with the majority of his time focused in business development and loan origination. Roger graduated from the University of Utah in finance and later earned a MBA from the same institution.

Ana Sirbu

VP of Finance and Capital Markets, BlueVine

Ana leads finance, strategy and capital markets at BlueVine. She was previously an investor with Google Capital, where she led financial technology, or “fintech,” efforts. She has worked at the intersection of finance and technology for the last decade, including at Silver Lake Partners and Skrill. Ana holds a BA from Harvard University.

Randall Smith

Creative Director and Chief Brand Strategist, modern8

Randall Smith has been a leader in the Salt Lake design and advertising industry for over 30 years. He is adjunct professor of graphic design at the University of Utah and founding president of the Salt Lake chapter of the American Institute of Graphic Artists (AIGA). Prior to forming modern8, a Salt Lake brand design agency, he served as principal or partner in traditional and interactive firms dating back to 1980. Randall’s creativity has been recognized in national and local publications and organizations, including awards from the New York Art Directors Club, Print magazine, AIGA and the Utah Advertising Federation.

Joseph Spence II

Co-Founder, WE are Makers-SLC, VP, Goldman Sachs

Joseph S. Spence II is co-founder of the We Are Makers – SLC Initiative, an organization dedicated to teaching underserved youth technology and business skills. He serves as board member and CFO for the Summit Institute at Powder Mountain, a gathering of tech executives, entrepreneurs, investors and artists focused on applying creative solutions to real-world challenges. He is also a vice president at Goldman Sachs. Prior to his career at Goldman Sachs, Joseph worked at Standard & Poor’s, where he covered approximately $144 billion in debt spanning all sectors, grades, strategies and regions. He has held roles in equity research, investment banking and corporate treasury.

Andy Stroman

President, Campsaver

Andy Stroman is the Founder & President of CampSaver.com, a leading online outdoor specialty retailer of premium outdoor goods. From its humble beginnings in a USU college apartment, CampSaver.com has grown to become a top destination for outdoor enthusiast all over the world. Based out of Logan, Utah, CampSaver.com has grown to over 100 employees while still maintaining an outdoorsy and family working environment. Andy and his employees are passionate about the outdoors and take satisfaction in helping people gear up to pursue their passions.

Dave Taylor

CMO, Impartner

Dave Taylor joined Impartner as chief marketing officer in 2015. Previously, he served as vice president of marketing, product and corporate strategy at WatchGuard Technologies. Prior to WatchGuard, Taylor co-founded Sparxent, a rollup of value-added service providers in the mid-market space, which grew to more than $50M of annualized revenue within two years. Taylor also worked at LANDesk Software for more than a decade and was part of the executive team that orchestrated the spinoff of LANDesk out of Intel. He spent five years with Intel in the UK, serving as general manager of Intel EMEA.

Cydni Tetro

Founder and President, Women Tech Council

Cydni Tetro works with the world’s largest brands, retailers and technology companies to deliver innovative technology products, drive execution and build high performing teams. She is founder and president of Women Tech Council, a non-profit with more than 10,000 members in its community. Previously, she was founder and CEO of 3DplusMe, a 3D printing software platform recently acquired by WhiteClouds. Prior to 3DplusMe, she spent four years at Disney as an entrepreneur-in- residence, building technology businesses from R&D. She is faculty for the Goldman Sachs 10,000 small business initiative, where she teaches growth planning, leadership, sales and marketing.

Craig Thatcher

President, Thatcher Group

Craig Thatcher was born and raised in Salt Lake City. He received a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Utah and an MBA from Northwestern University. Immediately after graduation, Craig joined the family chemical company. During his 40-year career with Thatcher Group, he held almost every position in the company. Craig currently serves as company president, overseeing 400 employees at 11 facilities across eight states. Craig is the proud father of three daughters and one son, and the family has grown to include 13 grandchildren—all of whom live in Utah.

Clark Whitworth

CEO, Larry H. Miller Group of Companies

Clark Whitworth has been with the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies for nearly 30 years, much of that time working alongside Larry and the Miller family. As CEO, Clark helps create the company’s long-term vision and works to position the Group for future opportunities and growth. He works closely with Gail Miller, the presidents of each organization, and the board of directors to maintain and promote the values on which the company is based. Before being named CEO in 2015, Clark served as president of Miller Management Corporation, as well as chief financial officer for Miller Automotive. Clark is a graduate of Utah State University and is a CPA.

E. Taylor Woodbury

Director and COO, Woodbury Corporation

E. Taylor Woodbury serves as a director and COO at Woodbury Corporation. In addition to his administrative responsibilities, he is involved with various departments in the company, including accounting, finance, development, and legal. Prior to his current position, he was the corporate Treasurer and oversaw all enterprise cash management. Mr. Woodbury is the project manager of Falcon Hill Aerospace Research Park at Hill AFB in Utah where he is responsible for all new development and leasing. He also was a principal in the management of Woodbury’s real estate private equity funds.

Colby Wright

Associate Chair, Finance, BRigham Young University Marriott School of Business

Dr. Colby Wright is the associate chair of the department of finance and the finance undergraduate program director in the Marriott School of Business at BYU. His primary teaching duties include an undergraduate capital markets class and an MBA introductory finance course. Colby graduated Magna Cum Laude with B.S. in Accountancy from BYU in 2001 and subsequently earned a Ph.D. in Finance from Florida State University in 2007. Among his numerous accolades, Colby was selected by the Princeton Review for inclusion in its inaugural edition of The Best 300 Professors in 2012.
