MILFORD, DE – August 29, 2008 – Burris Logistics is adding 24,411 square feet to its facility located at 1110 County Line Road in Lakeland, Florida. In October, when the expansion is completed, this facility will have a total of 113,395 square feet with approximately 17,000 pallet positions. Burris is one of the largest temperature-controlled logistics companies on the East Coast with facilities located in: Rocky Hill, CT; Philadelphia, PA; Elkton, MD; New Castle, DE; Harrington, DE; Federalsburg, MD; Lyndhurst, VA; Chesapeake, VA; Benson, NC; Sumter, SC; Atlanta, GA; (2) Jacksonville, FL; Orlando, FL; (2) Lakeland, FL; and Haines City, FL. Burris Logistics - Expanding our Capabilities and Service for you! The addition was completed in October of 2008 and after only 30 days the 24,000 sq ft addition was filled with products. Burris Lakeland J u s t c o m p l e t e d a n e w l i g h t i n g r e t r o f i t t o t h e f a c i l i t y. They replaced all of their 400 watt HPS lights with energy efficient T-5 & T-8 fluorescent lights. This lighting project is projected to save the facility approximately $20,000 per year on electric costs and another $1,750 in annual maintenance savings, not to mention the environmental impact:
…Reduction in 226,236 pounds of Carbon Dioxide …Reduction of 377,060 grams of Sulfur Dioxide …Reduction of 874,779 grams of Nitrogen Oxides By removing the quantities of above pollutants from the air, our lighting project will have the same effect on the environment as: • Planting 28 acres of trees • Removing 21 cars from the road each year • Saving 13,711 gallons of fuel each year.
