The Sankey Challenge

“We have committed matching funds toward the Shaping the World campaign that will modernize and expand the Burman University library. This bold and urgent project has significant future benefits for every university department!

The largest capital campaign in the university’s history has three main goals:

Donor Support

We thank the Sankeys for their creative generosity, and all those who joined them in helping us take a big step toward completion of the Shaping the World campaign.

Having our alumni and friends’ continuing commitment to transforming the library is exciting and faithaffirming. We are so very grateful to all those who accepted the Sankey Challenge and have moved us closer to reaching our $5 million goal for the library.

“We are extending an invitation for others to join us in honouring former President Victor Fitch and his family by naming the upper commons in the library the ‘Fitch Commons.’ “Respond by calling President Agrey or Eric Rajah [contact information below]. Our challenge doubles the value of your gift and honours the many contributions of the Fitch family!” Murray and Elaine (Babiuk) Sankey

We would also encourage you to consider nurturing students and faculty by supporting the other two parts of the Shaping the World campaign: student success initiatives and faculty research. In this time of public health and economic crisis, these have assumed an even greater than normal urgency. Thank you for your care and concern that surround us here on the Hilltop and on our virtual campus. Eric Rajah, Chair, Advancement and Donor Relations
