Uncompromising flow rate measurement Innovative flowmeter for applications with the highest hygienic requirements

Without any parts in the measuring tube Conforms to hygienic requirements, CIP/SIP capable Ideal for liquids with low or no conductivity Digital communication, parameter setting via communicator, display and Wi-Fi Compact, lightweight and low energy consumption

Flow measurement For greater plant efficiency Be it milk or beer: above all, it is the quality that counts. After each batch process, you rinse the pipeline with a cleaning agent. Ultimately, this comes into contact with the raw product and can be the cause of many litres of the end product going to waste. Furthermore, costs are incurred for waste water treatment. FLOWave determines density continuously. This is a temperature compensated measured value. If it changes, FLOWave recognises that a different liquid is flowing. This fast and precise measurement reduces rejects and increases the efficiency of your plant.

A flowmeter that quickly detects the media changeover reduces waste and increases the efficiency of your plant, so that everything flows as it should. We illustrate it here using an example of water, milk and lemonade with varying sugar content:

Regardless of the temperature, FLOWave outputs a density factor of 1.000 for water. If milk is added, the density factor increases. The higher the density of a liquid, the higher the density factor. In the second example, two types of lemonade with varying sugar content are distinguished from each other: the lemonade with more sugar has a density factor of 1.025. The density factor for the lemonade with slightly less sugar is 1.002. The higher the sugar content of a liquid, the higher the density factor.

Surface Acoustic Waves (SAW) technology explored Surface Acoustic Waves (SAW) occur in nature during seismic activities. We have used these effects in a patented technology for in-line flow rate measurement of liquids. According to the principle, there are absolutely no sensor elements coming into contact with the media in the measuring tube, and clear application advantages are provided over the entire product life cycle. SAW technology Interdigital transducers* are triggered by an electrical signal and generate the surface acoustic waves. These waves spread

over the pipe surface and couple into the liquid at a specific angle. The waves thereby generate reception signals with single and multiple passes through the liquid. This takes place both with and against the flow direction. The run-time differences are proportional to the flow rate. The comparison of single and multiple waves running through the liquid enables excellent measurement performance and additional evaluations with respect to the type and characteristics of the liquids. Interdigital transducers are provided to generate and detect surface acoustic waves.
