Northeast Coating Technologies, now known as NCT/TS, has become part of the HEF Group. Versatile, Controllable, Reliable NCT/TS offers a wide variety of standard and custom PVD coatings for traditional or special applications, using two types of deposition processes: • 0ur M-Arc cathodic arc deposition technology deposits dense, well adhered PVD coatings ranging in thickness from 1 micron to 30 microns and mono or multi layer. • NCT/TS uses a patented sputtering process, which deposits dense, well adhered, smooth films. PVD coating processes are environmentally friendly 06

and have been applied to both metals and plastics.

DLC C OA T I N G (DI AMOND - L I K E C A RB ON )

Frictionless and Unbreakable DLC coatings are the newest family of vacuumdeposited coatings. Their unique combination of low friction and extreme hardness excels at protecting high-wear interfaces for long periods of time against abrasion, impact, intermittent loading or lubrication, galling and fretting—even in applications with minimal lubrication. The patented technology used by NCT/TS to deposit our DLC coatings enables us to produce the highest quality, most consistent DLC coatings available, and to interlayer PVD and DLC coatings with ease and precision.

PL AS MA N I T RI D I N G Extreme Toughness to Assure Success The plasma ion nitriding process imparts a hard, wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant layer that will protect your part better against fatigue and abrasion. With the plasma ion process, you can control the nitride layer composition and the compound (or white) layer growth and composition. In addition, the ability to selectively case-harden a part at lower temperatures than with other nitriding processes allows you more flexibility in your design.

SA LT B AT H N I T RI D I N G Unrivaled Strength and Corrosion Resistance The MeloniteÂŽ QPQ processÂŽ (MelonizingÂŽ) is a salt bath nitrocarburizing process that produces an extremely hard, uniform layer consisting of iron, chromium, molybedenum and other nitride-forming elements. It has unrivaled resistance to wear, seizure, and especially corrosion, and can withstand operating temperatures nearing 1,000 degrees. It is the ideal option for products that endure the most brutal conditions, undergo repetitive use, or simply need to be a class apart in longevity and toughness.
