Forever ever
The new spring-summer collection is named Forever Fabulous because I believe in creating longlasting products of quality; seasonal decorations which can be used year after year and perhaps even passed on to the next generation, or a floral handprinted tablecloth which is stored away through winter, but brings joy and memories when brushed to life, summer after summer. It is also always an aim to use colours with an elegance that endures the flick of a trend. We hope that parts of the collection will become some of your fabulous forevers. This season we have asked Thilde Maria from Poppykalas to guest the catalogue for a take on Bungalow in her magic flower world. We love her innovative, vulominous and colourful universe of “eternal flowers”. blue hues with red the rock’n’roll edge
Blues are surprisingly versatile. Set the tone with the blues and a splash of red in dynamic combinations. Historically blue tones were more expensive to produce than other colors and thus spoke of extravagance and mostly appeared in the homes of the wealthy.

the vintage collection With the Vintage collection we wanted to create a look for our block printed textiles that stands the test of time. When I was a child my father went to India on a business trip and brought back home the most beautiful block printed tablecloths and wrap-around skirts for me and my mother. It was in the 70´s and the

textiles had a hippie, yet classy look. We have created the same look in a modern version by printing intricate paisleys and florals on tea-coloured fabric. We simply love the new range which will bring both happiness to every bohemian soul and add elegance to your classics.

For thousands of years, Indian artisans have been making decorative block prints – enchanting and inspiring around the world. The art of block printing is passed down from generation to generation and to achieve the highest quality we are working with some of the best block printers in India.
Skilled craftsmen stamp the cloth using carved wooden blocks to imprint the designs onto the fabric. Depending on the number of colors and the intricacy of the designs, the printer handstamps the cloth hundreds or even thousands of times to complete a Bungalow textile.
Block printed textiles are all handmade products and the printing process is lengthy and complex. Each piece is unique. Be ready to embrace varieties in colour and irregularities as part of the product. We do not consider them imperfections, but charming reminders of the handmade excellence.

my fascination for block printed It is not a coincidence that we have had hand block printed textiles in our collection for the past decade. It all started with a fascination for the beautiful and diverse block printed patterns, which I discovered on my very first journey to India. For me it was an instant love for the craft behind the patterns – an ancient technique which has survived the wonders of modern industrialization, due to dedicated artisans and pioneers in the Indian textile industry. Block printing is a testimony of the love of colours and patterns, which is so striking in India.

The beauty of block printing is in the imperfection. It is the imperfection that gives life to the pattern – the way you can detect the stamp outlines from the wooden blocks and the dissimilar pressure from the artisan's hand. We use many different types of techniques on our handmade papers. We use plain coloured papers with a special coating to achieve a leather look, screen printed papers for colourful patterns and papers with gold-foil stamp for an exclusive look. But common to our paper products; sheets, boxes, cards and notebooks is, that they are all made from handcrafted paper, which is produced from recycled cotton. The papers are wood-free and azo-free. On the following pages you can see the complex process of the paper making.

Bungalow jute rugs are made 100% jute. Regular vacuum cleaning is recommended. Use a soft bristle brush and a dab of water to immediately clean spills on a jute carpet. Avoid direct sunlight.
Stoneware Neem & Jazzy
Bungalow pottery vases are made of stoneware. These are not waterproof. We recommend using a glass or a plastic insert. Bungalow glass lamps are made of hand-cut glass. Electric socket E27 and EU 2-pin plug. Dust cleaning with soft cloth is recommended. Bungalow folded lampshades are made of paper with screen-printed patterns. The shades include shade-holder to fit most table lamps. Avoid direct sunlight. We recommend dust cleaning with a soft cloth.

Stoneware is a very strong and durable material. The Bungalow range of stoneware items are manufactured with glaze applied by hand to obtain the special look that you fell for. Varieties in colour such as small spots and unevenness may occur. These charming imperfections are not considered defects. The types of glazes are “crackle” glaze and “reactive” glaze. For both types, the crackle effect is part of the product and therefore intended. The different colour effects in the glaze occur by mixing pure mineral oxides at high temperature. The look and intensity of colour will vary from item to item. Therefore, please note that all items are unique and might vary from the colours showed in the catalogue. The crackle look will increase with usage. All items can be machine dish washed. Microwave use is not recommended.
