EDITORIAL

Sailing the Tides of Change Change is the one enduring element in the realm of human existence.The phenomenon under consideration exhibits perpetual and unyielding persistence. It plays a vital role in the development of our culture and civilization, despite the fact that it may infuriate some people. The significance of education lies in its ability to foster the development of student's skills, enhance the efficacy of educators, and cultivate a disposition for lifelong learning among students.

Similarly to how culture and technology evolve, so must educational practices. To keep up with the requirements of the labor market and the evolution of fundamental skills, the educational system must undergo constant innovation. Higher education institutions can foster innovation, update course materials, and equip students with the skills necessary to succeed in today's swiftly changing world. Enhanced student participation and practical implementation are additional advantages of transformation.

Even though the majority of educators still prefer and employ traditional methods of instruction, the rise of new digital instruments and instructional methods cannot be ignored.

By making use of these developments, educators will be able to provide a wide range of instructional approaches that encourage student engagement Change, meanwhile, sharpens valuable skills such as analysis, problem-solving, and adaptability. Education prepares students for life in a world in which knowledge, perspectives, and social norms are continuously evolving.

Educational institutions must embrace change that promotes exploration, original thought, and intellectual growth. These will help students become inquisitive, self-motivated scholars who are prepared to face the challenges of a world that is swiftly changing.

Equal opportunity and bridging the digital divide are two additional issues that can be addressed through pedagogical changes. It is no mystery that providing everyone with access to a quality education is challenging.

The dissemination of information to previously inaccessible regions, the creation of online resources, and the promotion of continuous education were made possible by technological advancements.

The educational system can be altered to ensure that all students have equal prospects of success.

The cultivation of tolerance towards cultural differences is of utmost importance in a dynamic global community. The acquisition of diverse perspectives, cultural practices, and global issues can enhance students' capacity to engage in ethical decision-making, promote social equity, and contribute to their local communities.

The use of innovative educational approaches will enhance the preparedness of the upcoming generation of leaders to effectively address the issues that lie ahead.

The adoption of change in the field of education is of utmost importance in order to guarantee the ongoing development and achievement of students. By implementing strategies that allow for flexibility and growth in our pedagogical approaches, curriculum design, and educational frameworks, we can enhance the readiness of students to navigate the dynamic and ever-evolving landscape they are poised to encounter.

The transformation in the field of education serves as a catalyst for creativity, promotes the development of critical thinking abilities, and cultivates a deep and enduring passion for lifelong learning. In order to adequately prepare students for success in the 21st century and beyond, it is imperative that we embrace change. The proposition is to adopt a positive stance towards change, recognizing it as a catalyst for the improvement of education and the creation of numerous prospects for future generations.

Privilege Speech Dear esteemed members of the Bulacan State University community, As newly appointed Vice President for Research, Development, and Extension, it is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that I address you today. I feel privileged to have the chance to work with such a passionate group of academics, researchers, and professionals at this prestigious university.

We at Bulacan State University are aware of the development, community involvement, and transformative impact of research. We can realize the full potential of our institution, make a meaningful influence, and advance society by adhering to these foundations. I'd like to share with you our thoughts, objectives, and intentions for the Office of the Vice President for Research, Development, and Extension as we begin this journey together.

Perspectives: Our perspective is founded on a thorough knowledge of the needs and goals of our community. We understand the significance of inclusive and participatory research that addresses the urgent problems faced by our region and beyond.

Collaboration, interdisciplinary thinking, and fusing conventional wisdom with cuttingedge methodology are things we appreciate. We think that research ought to be a catalyst for progress, enabling flourishing in people, communities, and institutions.

Goals: Our main objective is to build a thriving research culture that penetrates every aspect of our institution, which is anchored in our university mission and vision. Our goal is to foster a culture that values curiosity, promotes innovation, and values greatness. For our academics, staff, and students, it is important to provide high-impact research opportunities that enhance knowledge, technology, and sustainable development.

Moreover, we are dedicated to fostering community involvement and outreach initiatives that close the gap between the institution and the larger society. With local communities, governmental bodies, business stakeholders, and non-governmental groups, we hope to establish solid collaborations.

Initiating projects that address community needs, advance social justice, and improve the well-being of the people we serve can be designed and carried out by working cooperatively.

Plans: In order to achieve our objectives, we have created a thorough plan that consists of various important projects. These consist of: 1. Enhancing Research Capacities: We will offer assistance and resources to improve faculty and student research capacities. This will entail creating research funding, encouraging multidisciplinary cooperation, and setting up seminars and workshops to foster research abilities.

2. Fostering Community Engagement: We'll look for ways to interact with the neighborhood communities and meet their needs through strong collaborations. This will entail doing needs analyses, creating community-based initiatives, and planning communication campaigns that support social fairness and sustainable development.

3. Enhancing Knowledge Transfer: We'll set up systems to make it easier to share and apply research findings. In order to do this, platforms for knowledge sharing will need to be developed.

Additionally, intellectual property protection and attempts to transfer and commercialize technologies will need to be supported.

4. Strengthening International Collaborations: We will actively seek out partnerships with eminent institutions and scholars around the world. We want to facilitate cross-cultural learning, advance information exchange, and increase the quality and impact of our research through forming international relationships.

I extend a personal invitation to all of you to join us as we set off on this thrilling journey together.

The success of our research, development, and extension activities depends on your involvement, ideas, and contributions. Together, we can build a thriving, diverse academic community that is renowned for its brilliance, influence, and dedication to societal change. BulSU Achieves PQA Level III on the First Attempt The Bulacan State University accomplished what many have dreamed of, but only few have achieved as it was recognized as one of the recipients of the 2022 Philippine Quality Awards Recognition for Mastery in Quality Management, making it just the second state university in Region III to receive the PQA on the first attempt.

The Internal Quality Assurance Office (IQAO) also played a crucial role in guiding the university in its quality management journey, providing training, coaching, and support to ensure that the university's quality management systems are effective and efficient.

The University President, Dr. Cecilia S. Navasero-Gascon received the award on May 17, 2023, at the Malacañang Palace in Manila, and together with her were Dr. Teody San Andres, Executive Vice President, and Dr. Jaime Pulumbarit, Vice President for Administration and Finance.

This achievement of BulSU is a source of pride for the entire university community. It is a testament to the university's commitment to excellence and its dedication to providing quality education and services to its students and stakeholders.

The Philippine Quality Awards is a prestigious recognition given by the Philippine government to organizations that have demonstrated excellence in quality management. It aims to promote the importance of quality management in achieving organizational excellence and competitiveness. This award is a testament to the university's commitment to providing quality education and services to its students and stakeholders. The award recognizes the efforts of BulSU in implementing effective quality management systems and processes that have resulted in improved performance, customer satisfaction, and organizational sustainability.

In the same vein, this award would not be possible without the collective effort of the faculty members, heads of the different offices, staff, and other stakeholders of the university.

The University President, Dr. Gascon, together with the entire BulSU community commit to continue to strive for excellence in quality management and ensure that its quality management systems are continuously improved to meet the evolving needs of its stakeholders.

BulSU Expresses Gratitude with a

Thanksgiving Celebration for PQA Level III Achievement

Following the university's receipt of the Recognition of Mastery for Quality Management award, the Bulacan State University community gathered for a Thanksgiving celebration on May 17, 2023, at the University E-Lilbrary.

BulSU just earned PQA Level III on its initial application, making it the only state university in Region III to do so.

The PQA (Philippine Quality Award) is a national recognition given to organizations that demonstrate excellence in quality management. Bulacan State University President, Dr. Cecilia Gascon, expressed her gratitude to the university administrators, faculty, non-academic personnel, and students for their hard work and dedication in achieving PQA Level III.

“I would like attribute our success to: one, we have a clear vision of what we will be doing in our University. Alam natin kung ano ang dapat nating gawin.

A clear vision on where to drive the University”, the President expressed.

The PQA Level III recognition is a significant achievement for Bulacan State University and a testament to the university’s unwavering dedication to continuous improvement and pursuit of excellence.

Two, we have the right people in the organization. When I say right people, kayo lahat ‘yon. Dapat i-claim natin na in one way or another, we are contributing to the success of our organization”, Dr. Gascon added as she addressed the BulSU Community in her message.

After the program, the participants of the celebration retreated to the 7th floor of the BulSU E-Library to enjoy a healthy and hearty dinner.

The Thanksgiving ceremony was organized to celebrate and appreciate individuals at BulSU for their part in contributing to the university's milestones. Throughout the event, Dr. Gascon underlined the importance of innovation and continuous development in maintaining the university's excellence in quality management.

"We must keep aiming for quality and innovation in all aspects of our operations," she mentioned, emphasizing that this award is only the beginning of our journey.

BulSU signs MOA with PRC Christian B. Tuazon PhD in Educational Management

To aid the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) in the implementation of its programs, projects, and activities, Bulacan State University (BulSU) signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to build globally competitive registered professionals last June 14, 2023.

The said MOA signing at the E-Library’s Function Hall led by the University President, Dr. Cecilia S. Navasero-Gascon, Executive Vice President, and Graduate School Dean, Dr. Teody C. San Andres, PRC Regional Director Paul H. Aban, and PRC Supervising Professional Regulations Ms. Mary Elaine P. Espela.

PRC Atty. Carolina G. Lim-Gamban introduced the two (2) parties and cited the grounds of the MOA, including the amendment and suggestions to improve the partnership of both institutions.

“ The Graduate School of BulSU shall in return provide excellent extension services not only to its constituents, but also to undergraduate of BulSU and beneficiaries identified to undergo the career guidance advocacy programs of PRC,” stated Atty. Lim-Gamban.

Under the MOA, the PRC has the authority to execute necessary orders and other administrative issuances regarding the conduct of services such as the licensure examination, frontline and mobile services, training, and capacity building, whereas BulSU is in power to enter into agreements and linkages with other institutions through its board of reagents and president.

PRC proposed the inclusion of the acceptance of the Professional Regulation CommissionRegional Office III of On-the-Job Trainees (OJT) of Bulacan State University.

BulSU celebrates Earth Day 2023 Extension Services Office

Bulacan State University (BulSU), through the collaboration of the Extension Services Office (ESO), Research Management Office (RMO), Institute of Environmental Governance (IEG), and the College of Science joined the rest of the world in celebrating Earth Day by leading a series of environmental campaigns last April 25,26, and 28, 2023.

The theme Invest in Our Planet inspired the lineup of activities such as PHOTOsynthesis, Environmental Seminar, Research Paper Poster Presentation, and Coastal Clean-up aimed to raise awareness among the BulSU Community about the importance of coming together to take care of the environment.

Themed, Guardians of the Earth: Infusing the Essence of Conservation for Future Generations, the PHOTOsynthesis Photography Contest Exhibit highlighted the effects of climate change faced by our Mother Earth. The exhibit of winning entries participated in by BulSUans from various colleges was available for viewing from April 25-26, 2023 on the Ground Floor of BulSU E-Library.

It was hosted by the College of Science Biological Society. Likewise happened on the same date was the display of paper poster presentations and the Environmental Seminar of Balat Research Program spearheaded by the Research Management Office. Carrying the theme, Upscaling Environmental Literacy through Environmental Research Studies, the seminar was graced by reputable Resource Speakers in the persons of Atty. Julius Victor C. Degala, Department Head of Bulacan Environment and Natural Resources Office (BENRO), and Engr.

Reynaldo Jacinto, Head of Generation and Cost Management Energy Development Corporation.

Finally, to cap off the celebration last April 28, 2023, a coastal clean-up at Sitio Pulo, Pulo, Barangay Pamarawan, City of Malolos, Bulacan led by the Extension Services Office was held wherein a total of 63 interested participants composed of BulSU administrators, faculty members, non-academic personnel, and students joined. Various solid wastes mostly plastics, were collected by the group.

Dr. Ir. Roel H. Bosma lectures on Associated Mangrove Aquaculture Extension Services Office

Dr. Ir. Bosma of Wageningen University & Research Netherlands was the resource speaker at the Associated Mangrove Aquaculture Seminar hosted by the Extension Services Office (ESO) in collaboration with the Institute of Environmental Governance and the College of Science held on March 23, 2023. The halfday session took place on the 5th Floor of the BulSU E-Library. As an expert in Marine Aquaculture since 2000, Dr. Bosma has published numerous research on coastal aquaculture sustainability. Simultaneously, he also develops, manages, and reviews Research and Development projects of the same interest in Africa and Asia.

Engr. Erwin DR. Magsakay, Vice President for Research Development and Extension (RDE), opened the seminar. In his opening remarks, he lauded the untiring efforts of all the offices and colleges involved in making the event possible. He also took the opportunity to inform the audience about the developments under the RDE structure, emphasizing the operationalization of the two (2) centers: Cybernetic and Sparks or the CyberSparks. In his explanation, the Cybernetics Regional Development Center exists to innovate research-based technologies and services that will soon be readily available for the stakeholders.

The Sparks Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center is in charge of marketing and commercializing the cybernetics center's products and services. At the end of his message, Engr. Magsakay expressed his optimism in the alliance of various institutions, students, and stakeholders for bringing the centers into their glory and being the frontrunners towards Industry 4.0.

Dr. Annadel S. Cabanban, Country Manager for Wetlands International Philippines (WIP), delivered her message through Ms. Noreen Marie Follosco, Interim Project Manager, expressing her gratitude towards the continuous partnership between the WIP and BulSU praising the University’s efforts through its Research Development and Extension in mangrove forest rehabilitation as well as the promotion of wise use of coastal wetlands for people and nature.

Dr. Edwin R. Tadiosa, CS Faculty, then introduced the Guest Speaker.

The lecture on AMA was followed by an open forum participated in by faculty and students from the College of Science, and the College of Engineering.

A closing speech from the Vice President for Academic Affairs/Officer-inCharge for the College of Science, Dr. Edgardo M. Santos commended the time and effort exerted by the whole team who organized the event. He also mentioned in his closing remarks the extension activities conducted by the College of Science regarding coastal reforestation and habitat restoration.

The endeavor was attended by 180 participants consisting of selected faculty members and students from the College of Science, the College of Engineering and the College of Business Administration, and the College of Hospitality and Tourism Management.

The seminar on AMA was a collaborative project of BulSU and Latian Internasyonal Pilipinas formerly, Wetlands International Philippines under the advocacy, To Plant or Not To Plant.

IEG, ES, and CS Assess Coastal and Upland Reforestation Last March 17-18, 2023, the Institute of Environmental Governance in collaboration with the Extension Services Office and College of Science have carried out a follow-up monitoring and assessment of the conducted mangrove and upland reforestation activities in Brgy. Pamarawan, City of Malolos, Bulacan and Sitio Suha, San Mateo, Norzagaray, Bulacan during last year’s Environmental Volunteerism Movement: A Community Engagement Day (EnVMACED) – a voluntary field activity participated in by selected BulSU Administrators, faculty members, personnel and students as part of the International Conference on Research Innovation and Community Engagement held last December 16, 2022.

A total of 800 fruit-bearing and hardwood trees such as Guyabano, Narra, Fire-wood and Rhizophora seedlings were planted during the aforementioned simultaneous upland and coastal reforestation activities.

From the 300 mangrove propagules sunk into the tidal flats of Pamarawan, 50 percent have survived. The conducted impact assessment of the mangrove reforestation is also part of the proposed extension project of Dr. Edwin R. Tadiosa entitled, Mangrove Rehabilitation and Conservation at the Islets of Malolos City, Bulacan – a program designed to eventually reduce the deterioration of mangrove areas in Malolos, Bulacan affected by sea level rise and anthropogenic activities.

Meanwhile, the site in Sitio Suha, San Mateo, Norzagaray, Bulacan needs first to undergo brushing and clearing to properly count the thriving trees. The IEG has already coordinated with the peoples organization, Briquettor Association of the Philippines Inc. regarding the site maintenance hence, another monitoring is scheduled on May. Aside from the physical counting of remaining trees that survived, the group conducted key informant interviews to know the factors affecting its survival rate.

Unsurprisingly, from the gathered information on consultation, the frequent threats for trees growth include sea level rise and uncontrollable habitual plucking of propagules by the children playing near the site. On upland, factors hindering the flourishing of trees are temperature and forest fire.

IEG conducts mangrove reforestation campaign with the College of Engineering Anchored in House Bill 8728 or the "Graduation Legacy for the Environment Act which mandates all graduating students in Elementary, High School and College to plant at least 10 trees each as prerequisite for graduation, the Bulacan State University through the initiative of Institute of Environmental Governance under the Office of Development and Innovation, and Caesar Center. conducted a Mangrove Reforestation campaign at Sitio PuloPulo, Brgy. Pamarawan, City of Malolos, Bulacan on April 26. 2023.

The activity was participated in by selected BuSU faculty , NAPA and students from the College of Engineering. A total of 500 Rizhophora propagules were sunk by the participants onto the brackish waters of Pamarawan.

In the high time of 7am in the morning, the water level began to reach its highest peak making the planting of propagules challenging for the participants.

The propagules are delicate thus, they were planted two or three inches below the ground in a row at a distance of one to two meters apart. These conditions were strictly followed for the mangroves to flourish.

CON renovates two laboratories, requests further improvements The Nurses’ Notes – News Department

Two laboratories of Pimentel Hall at Bulacan State University – College of Nursing (BulSU-CON) underwent renovation from April to June to create a conducive environment for student nurses to use for the upcoming A.Y. 2023-2024.

The renovation of the Nutrition and the Anatomy and Physiology (Anaphy) laboratories was proposed by the former Dean of the College of Nursing, Gina D. Panganiban RN, DNM. The renovation project was initiated under the management of Dean Magdalena Soyosa RN, MAN, in April 2023.

During the renovation, CON relocated the classes that were assigned to those rooms to Nursing Arts Laboratory (NAL) 2, Lecture Room 1, and Lecture Room 2. The renovation in the Nutrition Laboratory (NutriLab) included upgrading the sink, stove, windows, and air conditioning.

Additionally, new tables and chairs were provided, and a monitor was added to enhance the students' learning experience through clearer presentations and slides.

The renovation of the Anaphy Laboratory primarily focused on improving the lighting, air conditioning, and windows to create a more suitable environment for laboratory activities.

The tables and chairs remained in their previous setup.

The construction was completed in the last week of June 2023. Presently, the Project Management Office (PMO) is awaiting the arrival and installation of all the tools and equipment. Once the setup is complete, they will turn over the rooms to CON. Aside from the mentioned renovations, CON has requested additional improvements, as mentioned

by Dean Soyosa: "Number 1, gusto namin na may maganda kayong [nursing students] skills laboratory. I-update natin ang mga mannequins natin, mga nakarequest na ‘yan. Sana maaprubahan [ang] renovation ng ating NAL 1, [at] ng ating massage [room], ‘yon ‘yong inaano [pinopropose] namin na magkaroon sana ng magandang laboratory, na magkaroon ng DR – simple delivery room tapos simple OR (operating room). Tapos ito, ipropropose din namin ito for renovation as your coordinators’ and advisers’ room, sa dami ng mga adviser ng bawat organization at dami rin ng mga faculty."

[Number 1, we would like you to have a conducive skills laboratory. We will update our mannequins, we have already requested these. Hopefully, the renovation of NAL 1 and massage room will be approved, that is what we are proposing, so that you can have a good laboratory, so that we can have a simple delivery room and operating room. We are also proposing the renovation of this coordinators' and advisers' room for the advisers of organizations and faculties.]

The Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) shined its spotlight on emerging talents from Bulacan State University through its renowned ACADEMEDIA program.

ACADEMEDIA is an exhibition program designed to celebrate the works of budding student filmmakers. It showcases their creativity and also provides guidance and support to these aspiring artists as they pursue their passion for filmmaking.

The college expects the endorsement of rooms this July for use this upcoming semester. Classroom rules will be implemented to properly maintain the new rooms.

This edition of ACADEMEDIA screened an alternative cinematic experience, featuring an impressive selection of short films produced by the creative minds of students from College of Arts and Letters - Bulacan State University (BulSU) and the University of the East (UE) last July 29, 2023 and August 19, 2023. This initiative offers a thoughtfully curated sellection of student-made films from class outputs and student organization projects. The event saw a gathering of the student filmmakers from BulSU and UE, alongside their fellow classmates and some of the cast members from the featured films.

A film forum and discussion followed the film screening at the Cinemtheque Center Manila and the engaging film talk was moderated by FDCP. Certificates were given to the talented student filmmakers who attended the event by FDCP's Education Consultant, Dir. Seymour B. Sanchez.

Students, staff, and faculty felt these changes last year when Dr. Marita R. Parobrob, the newly appointed dean, debuted at BulSU Meneses Campus.

When she was the campus secretary, Dr. Parobrob had already won the hearts of Pink Eagles. She is known for being a lovable, adaptable, and goal-oriented person, but she has much more to give.

She taught at Taliptip National High School (TNHS) for fourteen (14) years before she became a college instructor at Meneses Campus. She’s a graduate of Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Physical Science, Master of Arts in Education, and Doctor of Philosophy. Dr. Parobrob has witnessed the potential of BulSU MC students and faculty.

Prioritizing the well-being of the students and faculty is one of the common goals she shared with the former campus dean, Dr. Alberto J. Valenzuela

Pink Eagles is in the Purple Horizon Dyan Grace O. Crespo, LPT, MAE

Purple represents wealth, royalty, and power. This color was observed and felt in the BulSU Meneses Campus.

She envisions the campus's future as a Center of Development, with students who are globally competitive.

She intends to enhance the infrastructure of the BulSU Meneses Campus with the support of the university spearheaded by the university president, Dr. Cecilia S. Navasero-Gascon. The institution has already signed the deal for classroom renovations, and the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Bulakan, Bulacan is supportive of the campus and willing to assist it. The campus is situated in a lowlying location. This means that the campus is frequently flooded, especially during high tide. The only option to remedy this problem is to rehabilitate low-lying portions of campus. One of her goals is to restore these regions so that they are not affected by severe rains or high tides. Students will not experience flooding inside the campus premises.

During her first few months, she made certain that she was acquainted with the various areas of campus, such as research and extension. She sees potential among Meneses Campus faculty members since they have an eagle eye in terms of community needs that can be put into research.

She is now working on the flagship program and the expansion of the BulSU Meneses Campus. Meneses campus will soon be tall, and its name will be heard on the air!

The College of Education has remained to be one of the oldest colleges of Bulacan State University being established in the year 1967 and always heeds the call of teaching as a noble profession.

Armed with an impeccable pedigree of outstanding licensed professional teachers through its years of existence, the College of Education has remained true to the vision, mission, goals, and objectives of the university as a whole, leading its way to unparalleled instruction, research, and extension.

As the College of Education meets all the chances, changes, and challenges of the health adversity that was and with the changing and innovative educational landscape being considered, it has weathered the years of hard work and perseverance.

As the entire University starts the Academic Year 2023-2024 with so much optimism and enthusiasm, the College of Education makes sure that we start the year right with the new dean, Dr. Rafael DJ. Dayao and a roster of educators who are efficient and effective to transcend the knowledge over and beyond the limits to produce 21st-century teacherscompassionate and dedicated with a heart and with a purpose.

What are we expecting from the College of Education? The 3-Year Developmental Plan is at the helm and here is the bird’s eye view of the college in the next three years.

Extension services for each program of the College will be in full force. After all, we are not here to teach our students alone but to extend help to our community; The fifth floor also known as the rooftop will undergo a major facelift to make learning as an academic activity, something to look forward to, unminding the numerous steps to reach the top floor of the building; Researches and different studies across all disciplines to enhance teaching and learning one notch higher is something to embrace and anticipate; The Speech Laboratory will be improved and new equipment will come in to keep up with the needs of the students; Proficiency and Training Center will be implemented to our teaching force; The TLE Building will undergo major rehabilitation for more classrooms;

The College will reiterate its strong partnership with the Local Student Council and the Parent-Teacher Association to launch projects which are advantageous to both the teachers and the learners; The College of Education will go global as it collaborates with International Linkages Development, Faculty and Student International Exchange Program and International Internship Program; A Regional Conference about Teaching in the 21 st Century is being planned as well; The Laboratory High School will continue to be an avenue to nourish, nurture and train student-teachers who are capable to teach both in the local and international academic institutions; The ultimate goal of the College to be awarded the Certificate of Distinction and Certificate of Excellence are a work in progress in all Teacher Education Programs but the preparation are grinding to get the much-coveted accomplishments.

Furthermore, the College needs to sustain its overall board rating standing in good shape.

Arianna Marie B. De Jesus is not a rookie on navigating the hurdles that student leaders usually stumble upon.

Once a gubernatorial candidate for the College of Arts and Letters and also a former SSC senatorial candidate—she's now recognized as the BulSU Student Government President and the Student Regent. Since the beginning of her term, reasons on why she garnered 9,075 votes continue to transpire.

She is credible. Her words are definitely something you can rely on. You can feel certain when she says something is going to get done. Her reliability is unrivaled.

She is regarded not just by her fellow BulSUans, but also by other student leaders she got to work with outside the university.

She is present. Showing up whenever she is needed, particularly during times of crises, you'll witness a leadership that genuinely cares. She gives others vision and ingenuity since her hard work is not only seen, but also felt. She overcomes barriers and goes above and beyond to fulfill what is demanded of her.

She has comprehensive plans. Always eager to put things into action. She spent a lot of time working with and for those who need services the most. She is aware of the needs of the students and has strategies in place to meet those necessities. Her agenda, as seen now, is pro-people and based on democracy and equality for all. Nonetheless, she continues to converse with BulSUans, keen to be in their service.

She listens. Actively engaged with her peers, you can spot her fully immersed in what they have to say. She has a goal and that is—to understand. As she continues to be attentive, she builds trust, loyalty, and strong relationships. This in turn helps her identify issues before they become serious problems and come up with effective solutions.

FEATURE

She is kind. The type of leader that owns up to her mistakes and guide the way with authenticity. She drives individuals to do what is right, to be courteous, to serve others, and to work together for the greater good.

Do all of these mean she's a perfect leader that guarantees no slip during her term? Time and BulSUans will tell.

Take into account that leadership is about valuing your team and uniting them in ways that make them greater than the sum of their parts. A leader's responsibility is to devote time and analyze the variables at work before making a decision, ensuring team discipline and togetherness while allowing for individual contributions. As much as we all wish there were, there is no guidebook that warrants a perfect how-to about leadership. With the new academic year unfolding with various ultimatums for the Student Government and the Student Regent, may they carry on being fair, accessible and upright.

“Many students are feeling overwhelmed about choosing a major, which ends them with serious cost and time. However, a one-semester delay could put them in dismay off track or completion entirely,” stated by Senior Vice President of the Ellucian Suite of Operations (Jim Bennet).

As a junior, I applied for a school and program that felt right. It feels like a calling. No hesitations, no questions, no barriers — this is for me. I went there knowing the only thing I had was motivation. After careful consideration, I came to the realization that life demands serious choices. It is essential to select a course of study that aligns not only with your passion but also with your logical understanding.

Results-Focused Goal: I will get a Nursing degree.

Time-bound — Establish deadlines to determine progress; the more you see you can accomplish little goals, the more you will aspire to achieve bigger goals.

Remember, always think critically; it doesn't matter if it is uncomfortable and scary at first as long as you know it is the best decision you will ever make.

What matters the most is how you become one. How you become responsible and take care of your actions.

Be someone you will thank hereafter, for what you are working on now is connected to your future.
