Nick brings 18 years of coaching experience—8 with Birmingham United.—He played for Adelphi Oakland Troy Athens and his favorite part of coaching is “seeing the culture retake shape, year to year seeing the improvements within the framework of the program, teaching life lessons through the lens of lacrosse and all the relationships along the way.” One piece of advice from Stensen is “Write the story that you want etched in stone and told as your part of the legacy.”
Adam has a decade of coaching experience, including 8 years at Birmingham United. A former player for Birmingham Bulldogs (3 years), Birmingham United (4 years), and the University of Vermont (1 year), he takes pride in developing players both on and off the field. His impressive playing career includes a 2002 State Championship, All-American honors, and holding the BU career points record.
Paul brings 17 years of playing experience from Bloomfield Hills Elementary, Middle, and High School, as well as Illinois Wesleyan University. He has been coaching for 2 years and his favorite part is Watching the kids gel with eachother each season. Go Dawgs!
With 5 years of coaching experience and 3 seasons with Birmingham United, Kevin is dedicated to developing confident and skilled goalies. He is a former player for the Birmingham Bulldogs and United, and his favorite part of the job is seeing players step out of there comfort zone and gain confidence that will translate to adult life. Fun fact: Kevin was coached by Adam Kadro in high school at BU!
Andrew Bulgarelli has been coaching for 3 years. He started playing lacrosse in 6th grade, continuing his career at Troy Athens High School before competing for 4 years at Bellarmine University. His greatest joy as a coach comes from helping players reach their full potential on the field.
With 8 years of coaching experience, Mark started with the 7/8 grade team in the Birmingham Bulldogs Junior Program before joining Birmingham United in 2021. He started playing lacrosse in the 6th grade, played in high school at Pontiac Notre Dame Prep (3 years varsity),and in college at Aquinas College for 4 years. His favorite part of coaching is the players and families. He says “Every year, each player is so excited to learn and play. I really enjoy watching them develop throughout their careers in the Birmingham United Program. The program truly feels like a family even with it being united across 2 high schools that are traditionally rivals in other sports.”
In his second year coaching, Chas brings experience from playing 2 years at Orchard Lake St. Mary’s. He enjoys watching young athletes develop their skills and grow as players throughout the season.
Since 1989, Birmingham Youth Lacrosse has helped young players learn the skills necessary to carry them into the highest levels of lacrosse. Birmingham Youth Lacrosse Association is a premier Michigan based non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the game of lacrosse to the student athletes in the Birmingham/Bloomfield area. The bulldogs run teams year round (spring, summer, fall and winter season) from 1st-8th grade. We practice and play home games at Birmingham facilities with players coming from within the Birmingham community elementary and middle schools No prior lacrosse experience is required.
