Rotticci rvas born ir.r Nlodesto on October 16, 1930, ancl attendecl local schools, inclucling X'Iodesto High School, lvhere he excellecl as a center ancl line backer for the school's championsl-rip team. After gradrrating, he went on to complete his eclucation at Santa Clara, where he majored in business aclnlir"ristration. At Santa Clara. llotticci furthered his football abilitv as celrter ancl line backer and went to tl-re Orange Bou'l-u'ith the team in 1950, where they defeated the University of Kentucky. After lear.ing Santa Clara, he entered the U.S. Army irr tl-re liort Sill, Oklahonra, artillery scl-rool as a secourl lieutenant. From there he went to Fort Leu'is, \\Iasl-rington, as battery commancler of a training battery ancl later to Korea, rn'here he served nine months with tlie 40th division.

Weyerhaeuser, president, W-eyerhaeuser Tirnber Company. Retirement lvas ?equested after 25 years of service to allow him to devote moie time to other activities. He continues as a director of the company. Edwin F'. Heacox, presently mar.raging forester, r,vill b.ecorne manager of tl-re clepartment. His appointment and the retirement of C. D. \\Ieyerhaeuser are to be effective January 1, 1959. Heacox has been with the company since March 1930. In his new capacity he will report-to George H. Weyerhaeuser, r'ice-president, \\tood Products group.

Ida Cunner, "Girl Griday" at Marquart-Wolfe Lumber Co., Hollywood, is spending the first three weeks of November in Honolulu. She and her husband will visit the other Hawaiian islands before returning to the mainland.

The Lake Tahoe lumber dealer, Charlie Cross, Sr., and his better half, Pat, weathered a rip-roarin' University of Nevada homecoming celebration ai the Mapes hotel-in Reno the weekend of October 25. The retailer and the lady met while attending NU and both are members of the -Class of '48.

Thelma Shropshire, well knorvn lumbergal with Rossman Mill and Lumber Co., Wilmington, became the bride of

Walter G. King in Long Beach, Oct. 31. Thelma has been in the lumber business in southern California more than 15 years, having worked for the Retail Lumber Association, Schafer Brothers wholesale office in Long Beach for four years and then salesmanger of Schafer Bros. Lumber and Shingle Co. in Aberdeen, Wash., for several years and, after their sale to Weyerhaeuser Timber Co., operated her own wholesale lumber business in Aberdeen before returning to southern California and associating with Rossman. Mrs. Thelma S. King's many friends in the industry will still find her on the job with Rossman through P.O. Box 427, Paramount. California.
