The promotion was through the combined efforts of the local lumberyard and United States Plywood Corp., and showed the varieties of hardwood plywood produced by U.S. Plywood.

The retail yard donated the space inside the booth to the Santa Monica Kiwanis Club to sell their Christmas dates for the boys' work in the area. More than 10,000 people attended the three-day show, which is the year's big trade show in Santa Monica and includes all major manufacturing companies of the Bay area. It is sponsored by the Industrial division of the Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce.

"We were very pleased with the results and good publicity resulting in sales of plywood, and particularly with the excellent promotion of the Kiwanis charity program," says Dealer Fred Kranz. "I believe this shows how this type of civic activity not only helps the retail lumberyard but serves a community purpose as well."

Two large reforestation projects on two ranger districts of the Lassen National Forest have been completed with planting of 68,000 ponderosa pine seedlings on 80 acres in lhe Almanor district.
