Morris said the city's October perqrits we-re $40,650,677, compared to September's $35,714,232. Th_e 4875 permits compared to 4559 ihe prior month.'The 1958 total stood at $503,970,661, w?y abbve I957's $446,- 0U,662 in the same span.
Los Angeles County's 3589 October permits were valued 1!-$2(t,-356,516, compared to the previous month's $21,141,- 762. Of. the county's totals, 2803 permit s at g21,414,262'*ri" issued in the 21 incorporated cities and included 305 dwelling units, reported County Engineer John A. Lambie.

Urbana-Champaign, Ill.-Two short courses on home construction will be conducted by the University of Illinois Small Homes Council in December and Tanuary. announces Rudard A. Jones, Council director. An inteniive 10-day course.in building techniques and planning and design principles is scheduled for December 1-10 in-cooperation with the National Association of Home Builders. Tinuarv 14 and 15 are dates for the Council's 14th annual Short Cburse in Residential Construction.
