Hollow Tree Lumber Company's Ukiah mill had a close call Tuesday, October 14, when fire broke out in a log deck adjacent to the mill. However, Hollow Tree's fire-fighting apparatus, together with the Ukiah Fire Dept., quickly brought the blaze under control and confined damage to the bark of part of the deck.
