Our Commies and fellow-travelers will do their best to prevent any such normal change. They will continue to advise us along economic lines that would lead to our destruction. They will-as a matter of fact, they AREparading philosophies and sophistries that would lull us into fancied security against our real dangers here at home so that we may continue to waste our substance abroad. They would wreck without remorse and ruin without regret this last great stand of freedom and democracy. But we will beat that threat

He was asked a very difficult and trying question, to wit, would he fire Secretary of Agriculture Benson as had been suggested by some? The report stated that his face quickly showed displeasure at the query; then quick as light it changed into a grin, and in the best of good nature he gave his answer. It was straight, honest, and hard as nails as he said that Secretary Benson is doing fine. And his grin made the thing historic to many.

Harry Truman made the public statement that he did not believe Russia had any kind of a workable bomb. He had been Commander-in-Chief and in better position than any other man

Yes, sir, he "started right in with a trace of a grin on his face. if he worried he hid it." IIe's like that. In the last issue of this journal I took two pages telling how much I like Ike, and why. And, while trying to find ways and means to help their situation, he wants some day to get the farmers off the relief rolls that are called "subsidies."
