NAHB Convenlion

The National Association of Home Builders will observe its lfth Anniversary Convention and Exposition with an interesting convention agenda and the largest building products show in its history, the association's convention committee has announced. A record attendance of 20,0O0 builders, architects, suppliers and others from the industry are expected to attend the big annual meeting in Chicago's Conrad Hilton and Sherman Hotels, January 17-21.

Top convention attraction for many builders u'ill be the many "howto-do-it-better" features. consisting of informative technical presentation s designed to acquaint builders with up-to-theminute "tricks'of the trade" and the latest delelopments in c.onstruction methods.

"lndividuol Homes"

"Individual llomes" is the title of a glovu'ing new 8-page collection of full color photos of distinctive homes of lvood. norv available from the \\/est Coast Lumbermen's Association.

While not a plan book, the photos all sholv tasteful accents in gracious modern homes rvhere the fine qualities of Douglas fir, West Coast hemlock, \Mestern red cedar. and Sitka spruce are at their best.

Los Angeles Hoo-Hoo-Ettes Meet

The third year of Hoo-Hoo-Ette is rvell on its t'ay. Under the direction of President Bessie Steu'art, the October meeting of the group u'as helcl at Roger Young Auditorium, u'ith 57 members and guests attending. Mitzi Palmer, national vice president of the Desk and I)errick Club, u.as guest speaker, her topic being "()rganization."

Miss Palmer's outstanding cleliverv on a subject u'ith n'hich she is thoroughly familiartvas of great interest to those assembleil, and 'ivas trulf inspiring.

Organizational Chairman Anne Nlurray announced the formation of Hoo-Ho<>Ltte Club No. 2 in Eugene, Oregon. She also announced that Nelson C. Edens of Corrigan, Texas, is very mttch interested in the formation of a HooHoo-Ette Club in that citl', and aiso one in Santa Barbara. Goal of Club No. 1 for this r-ear is ten neu' clulls, and rvith this auspici()us start. it seettrs likel1' that the goal u'ill be reached.
