Everett Lewis Elected President Of Hoo-Hoo Club No. 39
Everett Lewis, Gamerston & Green Lumber Co., Oakland, was elected president of Hoo-Hoo Club No. 39, at the meeting held at the Claremont Hotel, Berkeley, September 15.
Other officers elected were: Vice president-Thomas Jacobsen, Piedmont Lumber &Mill Co., Oakland; Secretary-Treasurer-James B. Overcast, Strable Hardrvood Co., Oakland, (re-elected) ; Sergeant-at-Arms-Mel Matheny, Matheny Sash & Door Co., Oakland.
Directors elected were: D. H. LeBreton, Lincoln Lumber Co., Oakland; Ed La Franchi, Pacific Forest Products, Inc., Oakland; Don Kesselring, U.S. Plywood Corp., Oakland; Albert A. Kelley, Wholesale Lumber, Alameda; G. W. Sechrist, Loop Lumber & Mill Co., Alameda.
The meeting was called "George Cornwall Night," and Club No. 39 presented Mr. Cornwall witha beautiful scroll commending him for a lifetime of service to the lumber industry. Past-president Larue Woodson presented the scroll, following a talk by Carl R. Moore, who also read a paper on the life of George M. Cornwall, written by Professor Emanuel Fritz ol the Department of Forestry, IJniversity of California.
President Tom Hogan presided, and turned over the chair to the new president after the announcement of the result of the election.

Samuel L. Worswick, well known throughout California as a sales counselor, was secured by the Lumber Merchants Association of Northern California to give talks to the dealers in the various localities. Up to the middle of September nine talks were given, with a total attendance of more than 900 dealers and their employees. Talks were given at Stockton, Modesto, Tulare, Fresno, Bakersfield, Watsonville, Red'ivood City, Santa Rosa and Sacramento.
