One of Southern California's most octive and successful retail lumber concerns, operating three yards in Orange County.
Up and down the Pacific Coast rvhen the name of Curran is meritioned, lumbermen in all branches of the industry are pretty certain to think of Frank Curran, Sr., of the Frank Curran Lumber Company, Santa Ana, California. Because he ig one of the most widely known and respected men in the retail lutrber industry, and because he has actively engaged in the lumber business in California for the past 45 years.
In I9O2, Mr. Curran and his brother, the late Charles P. Curran, started in the lumber business in a modest way at Pomona under the name of Curran Bros. In 1905 he went to Los Angeles to become associated with the E. K. Wood Lumber Company, thus beginning a fine career with that excellent organization, in which he rose to the position of general manager.
When his brother's sons were old enough to assist in the business Mr. Curran sold his interest in the Pomona yard to his brother, and his two nephervs, Philip and Gerald V. Curran. 'Ihat rvas in 1915.
In 1935, after 30 years rvith the E. K. Wood Lumber Company, he decided to engage in business for himself in
