French Doorr \(/anted In New Homes

If orvners are free to express their preferences, nearly half the nerv homes to be built rvill have French doors. This fact is brought out by a nation-wide survey conducted by Ponderosa Pine \\roodu'ork.

A total of 45.7 per cent of the survey respondents said that they rvere definitely planning to include French doors in their nerv homc. Explaining this high percentage, it is pointed out that French doors actually fulfill a three-fold function in the home. With their large glass areas, such doors admit a maximum of light, permitting rooms to be shut off rvithout darkening them. Second, French doors are an expression of the rvell-knor'vn trend toward more glass areas in the home; and, third, such doors add a note of cheerful elegance and an extra fillip to the interior decorative scheme.
