D-l-Yers Prefer Ad Inserts

When deciding what to buy and where to shop, do-ityourselfers are most influenced by ad inserts (327o), followed by tv and newspaper ads (187o), according to a new study by Vertis.

"Ad inserts have been around for over 30 years, and they've always been influential," said Th6rdse Mulvey, v.p. of marketing research at Vertis.

However, she added, "consumers are increasingly drawn to this medium. With less time on their hands and less money in their wallets, a growing number of home improvement shoppers are seeking out the best deals before they leave the house to go shopping."
