Particleboard RVs Hit The Road
Raven Panel Sales and ProBoard Ltd., two Canadian cos., have jointly created a new particleboard product for use in recreational vehicles.
The new board is made on an 8'wide Mende production line that produces a continugus thin particleboard, suitable for virtbally any RV length. "The new board provides a smooth, consistent platform for the fiberglass," says Raven pres. Lance Davidson. "Since it's one continuous ribbon of board on the body of the vehicle, there are no vertical seam lines."
"Currently, most 40' RV units are made by gluing together a series of 4'x8' lauan plywood boards," explains Davidson. "This is not only time consuming, but each seam or joint telegraphs through the fiberglass exterior when the sun shines on it."
