Model H9 and HM9 hurricane ties designed to retrofit roof truss/rafters for both wood and block construction are available from Simpson Strong-Tie Co. Engineered to provide high uplift and lateral capacity, they connect the roof framing to the exterior wall after simply removing the soffit for access to the rafters. Also available, built-in reamer and type 17 tip eliminate predrilling in most cases for Strong-Drive wood screws. Screws feature hex washer heads for easy socket wrench driving. Many new Simpson Strong-Tie connectors use these screws in place of through bolts, saving installation time and labor and improving appearance from reduced reveal.

And, Simpson AnchorMates keep anchors aligned and firmly in place. Easy installation or removal on 2x4 or 2x6 sill plate; no measuring needed. Grippers hold bolt in place without need for a nut. Elevated holders allow easy troweling under anchor. The collar helps keep concrete off threads.
