Bill Lee, Lee Resources, addressed customer care, reminding dealers that employees will take better care of their customers when they are made to feel that their contributions of work and ideas make a difference.

Meg Hogan and Phil Wirtz, State Compensation Insurance Fund, won the Quick Pitch contest for associate members, besting John Berthe, Computer Systems Dynamics, and Max Tietjen, Dimensions Software. About 100 members attended the Mav 17-20 convention at the San

Diego Marriott Hotel, which also included a golf tournament, golf and safety awards, entertainment by celebrity impersonators, and meetings of the general membership, board of directors, executive committee and associate council. Approximately one-fourth of the attendees joined in on a Mexican Riviera cruise immediately following the convention.

The next convention will be May 5-8, 1990, at the Doubletree Inn, Monterey, Ca.

Kudos For Az. Dealers

Four people were honored at the Arizona lumber dealers convention for outstanding contributions to the industry in disincorporating the Arizona Lumber and Builders Supply Association without debt. Awards were presented to Don Hossack, O'Malley's Building Center, Mesa (top photo); Sherri Gaylor, Mallco Lumber and Building Materials, Phoenix (not pictured); Dave Runyan, Babbitt's Home Center, Flagstaff (lower photo), and Steve Snavely, Snavely Forest Products, Chandler (center photo).

The awards were presented by Gary Woodward; Woodward Lumber, Las Cruces, N.M., president-elect of the Mountain States Lumber and Building Material Dealers Association. Since the disincorporation of the ALBSA in 1988, dealers in Arizona have been invited to join the MSLBMDA. Twelve retail companies and l3 supplier firms have become members of the MSLBMDA to date, according to president Roger Wulf, BMC West, Aspen, Co.
