Second Growth, the under-40 group within the Lumber Association of Southern California, recently held its first meeting of the Year, electing new officers and honoring its past president.
LASC executive vice president Wayne Gardner spoke on the various forest management initiatives seeking signatures for the November California ballot. He urged the lumbermen to become informed on the issues and to speak out for the industry.

Frost Building New Quarters
Frost Hardwood Lumber Co., San Diego, Ca., is building new offices and a warehouse at its existing Miramar, Ca., site, with plans to move from its downtown location by the end of the year.
Downtown San Diego has undergone a transformation in recent years. "Downtown used to be 'lumberyard row,'but we're the last ones," said G.T. Frost. "Behind us are two Marriott Towers, a $160 million convention center. it's time for us to move." The company has been on the site since 1923.
