Although plywood is the major structural sheathing for house construction, waferboard and oriented strand board (OSB) have been increasing their market share for floor and roof applications since they were introduced in 1978.
Historical data for residential construction show waferboard/OSB has gained l4% ofthe subfloor sheathing market and 33% of the roof sheathing market since the early '80s.
