Lumbermen Buy ot Hordwore Exhibit

A record breaking registration of more than 10,000 put the stamp of success on the annual West Coast Hardware-Houscwares Show at the Long Beach Arena over St. Patrick's Day weekend.

Lumber and hardware dealers purchased a variety o{ goods providing further evidence of retailer merchandise diversification. The show pulled some buyers from major hardware chains in spite of its greater appeal to independent hardware dealers.

The increased number of lumber dealers attending the show demonstrates the diversity of inventory being stocked by retailers. This current merchandising concept is proving profitable {or those who have added such items to their line.

A catalog of some 75 specials, many of them offering l0 percent discounts for the show only, attracted browsing buyers.

The Anaheim Convention Center, now under construction. will bc the location o{ the 1968 show. Pacific Southwest Hardware Association, show sponsor, expects tle new location to be a stimulant for a continually expanding markct. The new center will accommodate about 530 exhibits, or about 200 more than the Long Beach, Calif. Arena. Sho*' dates have been reserved for March.
