Tnhe Merchant

Dear Dave,

I feel I should drop you a note and tell you I look forward to getting The Merchant and keeping in touch with all the activities in the lumber industry which I miss since my retirement last year from the O. M. Hill Lumber Co.

Especially I enjoyed the write-up of the Hoo-Hoo-Ette Club's $1 and f 10 Boss'night party. I was fortunate to be able to attend that meeting and, more so, to see the way it has grown each year, as it was in my regime as president in 1956, that we had our first party. I am very proud of the place this has taken as the annual social event in the club. f am interested in the possibility of buying, at lower price than retail, lumber and plywood for small boat construction (30'40'), if possible.

I am looking forward to attending the National Convention of Hoo-Hoo-Ette Clubs in Los {ngeles in May and having further opportunity of saying hello to so many good friends. Again thanking: you. Cordially yours, Mabel P. Staser, Kentfield, Calif.

The Merchant Dear Sirs.

I wish to find out, for example, if a buyer can get lumber cheaper by trucking it from the source of supply, and etc. I presurne your magazine could tell me something on thisor I could get some info on companies to write.
