In 1960, Mr. Stanton and Fred Losch founded Stanline, Inc., Vernon, Ca At the time of his death he was active as president of the invesunent firrr E. J. Stanton & Son Inc., Newport Beach, Ca.
Robert E. Nelson, 76, president of Neeley Nelson Lumber Co., Medfor4 Or., died of a heart attack Feb. 21, 1994.
In 1945, he entered the industry with Red Blanket Lumber Co., Prospect, or. In 1959 he started his own business with partner Clinton Neeley.
During World War II, he had been shot down during a daylight raid over Schweinfurt and led part of his B-17 crew out of Germany to safety on foot, tle ftrst time any air crew had escaped after being shot down.
Carita llolton, 79, pioneering female lumber broker, died Feb. 16, 1994, in Eugene, Or.
Born in Detroit, Mi., she moved to Eugene 50 years ago and worked for various companies, including Eugene
Lumber Sales and Western Distributors, before retiring in the late 1970s.
She helped organize courses in lumber at Lane Community College and received the 1977 National HooHoo-Ette Lumberwoman of the Year Award.
Jay Ilarriq 63, Arizona/Southem Nevada sales supervisor for Kwikset Corp., Phoenix, Az., died March 5, 1994, while in Mexico on business.
After serving in the Air Force during the Korean War, he joined Kwikset in 1954 and later earned his degree fromUCLA.
Henry Amos Geib, 88, president of Geib Lumber Co., Vista Ca., died March 10,1994, inLaJolla Ca.
Born in Clara City, Mn., he co-purchased his first yard in Carlsbad, Ca., inl924 (today's BauerLumber). Two years later he bought a yard in San Gabriel and moved there to run it.
In 1928, he helped build a new yard in Encinitas, buy the Vista yar4 and merge all operations under the Geib Lumber Co. co'rporation.
He co-purchased Escondido Lumber Co., Escondido, in 1934 and Holsinger Lumber & Hardware Co., Yucaipa, in 1945.
