Swan Secure Opens Pacifi
Stainless steel and copper alloy fastener manufacturer Swan Secure Products, Baltimore, Md., has opened a sales and distribution center in Portland, Or., to service the Pacific Northwest construction market.
The 5,600-sq. ft. facility enables the firm to shorten its product delivery time to as little as 24 hours, according to v.p. Mike McFarland. Albert Mickadeit has been named branch mgr., responsible for sales, service and distribution on the West Coast.
Swan Secure manufactures and distributes corrosion resistant nails and screws for wood and fiber cement siding, wood and polymer decking, roofing, plywood, metal panels, framing, structural, finishing, millwork and trim in hand drive and collated systems.
New NAWLA Enviro Policy
The North American Wholesale Lumber Association has thrown its support behind industry certification programs and has recognized the Sustainable Forestry Initiative for its environmental practices.
NAWLA endorsed certification and encouraged members to support suppliers that use sustainable forest management practices.
Guardian Restructures BMA
Guardian Building Products has restructured its ownership of Builder Marts of America, Inc.
The move enables Guardian to fully integrate its systems and resources with subsidiaries BMA, Guardian Fiberglass, and Cameron Ashley Building Products, allowing customers to have complete access to products and services offered by all four firms.
Wholesalers' Meeting Soon
The North American Wholesale Lumber Association is holding its l09th annual meeting May 6-8 in a region seeped in history and government, Colonial Williamsburg, Va.
Aptly entitled "A Colonial Experience," thirs year's gathering will be keynoted by Bob Langdon, author of Managing Your Business For Profit, who will discuss methods for making companies more profitable.
