New rcdwood structural grades

The following tables show recommended joist spans and strength specifications for No. 2 structural heart and No. 2 structural. Spans are calculated using 40 pounds per square foot live load and 10 pounds per square foot dead load. Deflection is limited to l/240.

JOIST SIZE SPAN (16" o.c.) SPAN (24" o.c.) 2x8 l0 ft. 8ft.6 in.

Working stresses for green No. 2 structural heart and No. 2 structural redwood 2 to 4 inches thick and 5 inches and wider are shown in the table below.
