IIHE first three in a year long ser- I ies of Design Idea Forums for the West have been held by the Koppers Company at three Southern California locations. The initial one, in Los Angeles, drew more than 450; the forum in San Diego over 130, while the Anaheim forum (shown here) had an attendance exceeding 200. All three were held in January.

The purpose of the forum is to show Koppers' current design ideas plus product information. Exhibits of their products and services are also presented. Other meetings are set for San Francisco and Sacramento in May; Portland, Or., and Seattle, Wa., in mid-summer with Denver, Co., and Phoenix, Az., forums set for this fall. The last such series was held in 1980.

Following a presentation of products and services, a panel of eight company experts fielded questions from the audience during a question and answer session. The by-invitation-only audience consisted of major design firm principals and other experts in the building construction process.

Three new product areas from Koppers were featured: the Dricon fire-retardant and decay resistant process; Rx insulation, a rigid phenolic foam; and Dion polyester for use with fiber reinforced plastic construction material applications.
