Buena Park Unveils Panel I

Buena Park Lumber. Buena Park. Ca., has added an outdoor carved redwood panel to the collection of unusual objects used to add interest to their showroom.

Created from four panels of 4'x76'x2" Sequoia gigantica redwood, the stylized carving depicts objects familiar to the Sequoia region. Artist John Edward Svenson, Upland, Ca., has entitled it Salmon Run.

According to Ted Gilbert, owner of Product Sales, Orange, Ca., who provided Buena Park Lumber with the material, the vertical grain redwood was windfall timber which had dried naturally for about 500 years. Displayed near the main entrance to the store's showroom, the finished work has been laminated, heavily sealed and given a stippled finish.

Taylor-Ramsey Changes

Taylor-Ramsey Lumber Co., Lynchburg, Va., has named Larry Knox manager of its western division. The firm previously had been represented in the California market by Buchanan Lumber, Long Beach, Ca.

A former partner in Liberty Hardwood, Santa Ana, Ca., Knox will be traveling nine western states for Taylor-Ramsey, which is primarily a hardwood manufacturer. Sales are to stocking wholesale yards.
