Jobber Convention Coming

The National Sash & Door Jobbers Association will hold its 36th annual convention Oct. 2-6 at the Opryland Hotel and Convention Center in Nashvillc, Tn.

The theme of the opening general session, keynoted by Peter Radfbrd, is "Millwork on a High Note," fittingly, since one of the evening's highlights is "Viva Nirsh Vegas," an impersonator-studded tribute to stars such as Garth Brooks and Shania Twain.

Speakers include author Dr. Rick Brinkman on "Bringing Out the Best in People at Their Worst;" Dr. Bart Basi, "Strategies for Buying or Selling a Sash & Door Jobber Company;" John R. Daly, "Do You Really Know How to Determine What Your Business is Worth?;" Mike Dorsey, electronic catalogs; Howard Taylor, "Substance Abuse Prevention Program for the Workplace," and Tcd Kennedy, Jr., "Facing the Challenge."

Francis John Rubichaux, 84, founder of Rubichaux Lumber Co., Raceland. La.. died June 9.

He began working in the lumber industry in 1946 and opened ltis own company three years later. He moved Rubichaux Lumber to its present location in 1956 and transferred ownership to his six erown children in 1992.

He refrained active in the business until about l0 weeks prior to his death, a 53-year tenure in the industry.

Francis J. Rubichaux, Jr., his eldest son, is now president and daughter Karen R. Cunn is bookkeeper.
