Jemcc L. Grrdncrr Srr 96, owner of the old Wynne Lumber Co., Wynne, Ar., died July 14, 1992 in Little Rock, Ar.
Mr. Gardner owned the comPany for over 50 years, retiring in 1988.
E. L. Warer 66, manager and coowner of Starr Lumber Co., Woodward, Ok., died July l, 1992 in Woodward.
A native of Fargo, Ok., he began his lumber caroer in 1952 with C.E.
Home Depot Cannibals
Approximately 33 Home Depot cannibal stores will open in the remainder of fiscal 1992, ll in the southeast, l0 in the west and 12 in the northeast.
Cannibal stores, as described by chairman and ceo Bernie Marcus, ease the load on present stores and enable the chain "to maintain our lead in providing the best customer service in our retail segment and also to further increase market share within existing markets by providing customers with more convenient shopping locations."
The company aims to reduce the cannibalization long term and devote more resources to entering new markets with the Store Productivity Program. This program streamlines merchandise and customer throughput with a variety of operations and design innovations and allows stores to operat€

Mr. Ware was current vice cbairman of the Mid-America Lumbermens Association's Oklahoma state committoe.
Frank Grant, 68, retired paint department runager at Tahlequah Lumber Co., Tahlequah, Ok., drowned June 6, 1992 trying to rescue two boys from the current of a rising Tahlequah crcek.
He joined Tahlequah Lumber in 1973, retiring last year.
