'Palco Plain bevel patterns are reversible with one side saw-textured and one side surtaced smooth. Expose the saw-textured side when natural finishes are used.

Shipping. Palco bevel sidings are shipped in units covered with protective cardboard. lmperial Sidrng units contain random lengths of 6 to 20 feet Other bevel sidings come in random lengths of 3 to 20 feet Reslrrcted lengths may be oblained for a small additional charge. Bundle paper wrapping is also available for added protection o Stains. Oil-base semi transparent stains add color to the wood, yet allow the grarn to show. Oil-base opaque stains will hide the grain, but accent the texture of the wood. o Paints. A quality oil-base or alkydresin prrmer should be used. This can be followed by two coats of acrylic-latex or oil-base paint. Brush application is recommenoeo. o Water Repellants. These provide the most natural appearance. Water repellanls minimize darkenrng and give the redwood a buckskin tan color. ln wet climates the wood may turn driftwood gray. When semi-transparent stalns and water repellants are applied, it is recommended that patterns with a saw-textured face be used. Do not use shake and shingle paints, low-lustre alkyd paints or varnrshes.

Grades. All siding patterns listed are available in Clear All Heart vertical grain, and most are available in Clear vertical grain. All are Certified Kiln Dried for maximum stability and performance.

Application. Use plywood, lumber, flakeboard or fiberboard sheathing and a continuous vapor barrier. Install all redwood siding with non-corrosive nails that peneIrale 11/z inches into the stud or combina tion of stud and solid wood sheathing. Use quality hot-dipped galvanized, aluminum or stainless steel nails Do not use finish or casing head nails Finishing. Palco redwood sidings can be easily f inished for a variety of appearances. A finish should be applied and maintained for the best performance.
