Companlec Adopt Swaln Name

A group of building materials companies operating in Mississippi, louisiana and Texas have changed namcs to markct under thc common trade name of Swain Building Materials.

Includcd are Wholesale Building Materials Management Co., I-cland, Ms., which will be known as Swain Managunent Co.; kland Wholesale Building Materials Co., now Swain Building Materials Co. of Leland, Inc.; Florwood Wholesale Building Materials Co. of Jackson, lnc., now Swain Building Materials Co. of Jackson, Inc.

Slidell Wholesale Building Materials Co. will change its name to Swain Building Materials Co. of New Orleans, Inc.; West Houston Framing Co. will become Swain Building Materials Co. of West Houston, lnc.; Lewisville Building Materids Co. will change to Swain Building Materials Co. of Dallas, Inc.

Each yard will continue to operate as a separate Mississippi corporation, according to William D. Swain, president.

Hardwood Industry Seminar

The National Hardwood Lumber Association, with Purdue University's Department of Forestry and Natural Resources, is presenting a five day, 30 hour hardwood manufacturing and marketing seminar, March ?.6-30, at the NHLA facilities in Memphis, Tn. Registration is $500 for members, $750 for non-members.

New Publisher lor Pine Paper

Steve Cornfield is the new ownerpublisher of Southern Pine Bulletin, publishing in Marlboro, N.Y. Former owner-editor Bob Kincaid is now representing the Western Wood Products Association and the Southern Forest Products Association in London, England.

A price reporting periodical, the publication also includes industry news and analysis as well as statistical information.
