2016 saw Barfoot & Thompson Auckland Cup Day move to a Saturday to enable more Aucklander’s to attend and celebrate the thrill of Auckland’s iconic raceday. This move also resulted in Auckland Cup Week consolidated into two amazing days featuring the glamorous tradition of Derby Day followed a week later by the excitement and prestige of Barfoot & Thompson Auckland Cup Day, creating a must-attend carnival for all Aucklanders. 2017 Auckland Cup Week will also follow this format with Vodafone Derby Day on Saturday 4th March and Barfoot & Thompson Auckland Cup Day on Saturday 11th March.
