GESCHICHTE HISTORY
Die Goldenen Zwanziger sind Jahre, in denen Vergnügen gross geschrieben wird. Das erkennt Friedrich Frey-Fürst, damaliger Besitzer des Bürgenstock Resort, und sorgt dafür, dass sich auf dem Hotelberg weder die Grossen noch die Kleinen langweilen. Friedrich Frey-Fürst will einen Golfplatz auf dem Bürgenberg anlegen. 1928 kauft er dafür — nach einigen Auseinandersetzungen und gerichtlichem Hin und Her mit einheimischen Bauern — die idyllisch gelegene Trogenalp.
Friedrich Frey-Fürst hat einen innovativen Plan, wie aus sumpfigem Land ein geradezu bilderbuchmässiger Golfplatz werden kann: Zuerst legen die Arbeiter eine ganze Anzahl einstiger Gletscherspalten und Gletschermühlen frei und entfernen den wertvollen Humus. Später füllen sie die Löcher mit den überall weggesprengten Steinen wieder auf. Über die Steine schütten sie die Erde, die sie zuvor gewonnen oder mit Lastwagen aus dem Tal geholt haben. Auf diese Weise ist für schöne Plätze mit einem für den Golfsport geeigneten mageren Graswuchs gesorgt. Alle neun Holes befinden sich in Waldungen aus Buchen und Fichten. Im Ganzen erstreckt sich der neue Golfplatz über eine Fläche von 6 Hektaren.
Die Gäste können später die Anlage wegen der schönen Naturkulisse — mitten in Bäumen und vor eindrücklichen Berggipfeln — nicht genug rühmen.
The Roaring Twenties were a period when pleasure was writ large — a fact taken to heart by Friedrich Frey-Fürst, then owner of the Bürgenstock resort, who ensured that neither young nor old would get bored at his resort. Therefore he wanted to construct a golf course atop the Bürgenstock. In 1928 — after a number of heated discussions and legal back-and-forths with local farmers — he purchased the idyllically situated Trogenalp.
Friedrich Frey-Fürst had an innovative plan for turning the marshy ground into a picture-perfect golf course. First, the workers uncovered a number of glacial crevices and mills and removed valuable topsoil from within them. Later, they refilled these cavities with the blasted rock from the site. On top of the rock, they then laid the soil that had been collected from the crevices and mills, or brought up with trucks from the valley. This provided the foundation for an attractive golf course and supported a cover of grass suited to the sport. The new golf course covered an expance of six hectares, with all nine holes surrounded by stands of beech and spruce.
Later, guests couldn't stop talking about the course, with its stunning natural setting in the midst of the trees and the impressive mountains peaks in the background.

The Alpine Golf course was designed focusing on the walking golf philosophy. We believe practicing walking golf enables you to appreciate the subtle undulations of the fairways, the natural contours of the land, and the many nuances of the course‘s architecture.
The Bürgenstock Alpine Golf offers a full complement of services, including a golf shop, Golf Academy services, its own driving range with alpine landscapes, club services, trolley rental, as well as full access to the famous hotels, restaurants, spas and recreational facilities of the Bürgenstock Resort Lake Lucerne.
