Visa To Paradise Mexico, 2010, 108 min. Director: Lillian Lieberman A passport often means the possibility to travel to a new destination. Here, it is quite literally the ticket to life, and those that have power to issue them hold lives in their hands. Gilberto Bosques, Mexico´s General Consul in France between 1939 and 1942, saved thousands of lives by issuing passports to Jewish and Spanish Republicans who were being displaced from occupied Spain and Germany. Bosques himself often filmed all the areas he visited, contributing rare footage of those exiled. Perhaps his name is not commonly known in history, but without a doubt Gilberto Bosques nearly single-handedly saved numerous lives with the stroke of a pen.

En esta película, es literalmente un boleto a una nueva vida, y los que tienen el poder de distribuir los pasaportes tienen estas vidas en sus manos. Gilberto Bosques, Cónsul General de México en Francia de 1939 a 1942, salvó miles de vidas distribuyendo pasaportes a republicanos españoles y a judíos que fueron desplazados de España y Alemania. A menudo, el propio Bosques filmaba los lugares que visitaba, contribuyendo un material poco antes visto de las personas exiliadas. Quizá su nombre no es muy común en la historia de México, pero sin duda alguna Gilberto Bosques salvó miles de personas con solo firmar su nombre.

Director: Renate Costa This is the personal story of Rodolfo, who brings two generations face to face in a confrontation that reveals part of the hidden and silenced history of Paraguay from the 1980’s, during the Stroessner dictatorship. This is the search for traces of his life and the discovery that he had been included in one of the “108 homosexual lists” arrested and tortured. A personal quest made of few certainties and many questions –that will allow us to discover the relationship we construct with the past, and how this relationship defines our present.
Spanish with subtitles Es la historia personal de Rodolfo, donde se enfrentan dos generaciones, que revela parte de la historia oculta y silenciada de Paraguay de los 1980s, durante la dictadura de Stroessner. Esta es la búsqueda de las huellas de su vida y el descubrimiento de que fue incluido en una de las “108 listas de homosexuales”, arrestado y torturado por ello. Esta es una búsqueda personal construída con pocas certezas y muchas preguntas a menudo sin respuesta. Preguntas que nos permiten entender el pasado, y cómo poder aceptarlo para luego vivir en el presente.

Director: Felipe Degregori During the 80´s and 90´s, Peru experienced an internal war between the Maoist group Sendero Luminoso and the Fujimori government. The indigenous people of Chungui, in the heart of the Peruvian Sierras, were among the most affected by violence coming from both factions. Using vivid drawings and personal interviews, the anthropologist and painter Ediberto Jiménez portraits his experience during his visits to the Chunginos, who still wait for help and support from the Peruvian government and civil society.

Los habitantes indígenas de Chungui, en la sierra central, fueron de los más afectados por las atrocidades de ambos bandos. A través de dibujos explícitos y testimonios, este documental muestra lo que el antropólogo y retablista peruano Ediberto Jiménez vió y escuchó en sus entrevistas a los Chunguinos que todavía esperan ayuda y apoyo del gobierno y sociedad peruana.
