The ShowingTime ShowingIndexis a measure of buyers touring homes The graph below uses the latest numbers available and compares them to the same month in the last normal years to show just how active today?s buyers still are:

As you can see,when June 2023 numbers are stacked alongside what?s typical for the housing market at this time of year,it's clear buyers are still active And,they?re actually a lot more active than the norm

If you?re wondering how this could possibly be true, it?s because buyers are getting used to higher mortgage rates and accepting them as the new reality As Danielle Hale, Chief Economist,Realtorcom, explains:

?Interest rate hikes continue to further cut into buyers' purchasing power, although they appear to have adapted to the higher mortgage rate environment . . .?

CLEAN, OR POSSIBLY REPLACE, YOUR GUTTERS. You're so used to your gutters working properly ? and draining thousands of gallons of water from your roof yearly ? that you forget they could use a little TLC If they're clogged,you can end up with a flooded interior and damaged exterior

CHECK FOR DRAFTS Weatherstripping is simple and probably the most cost-effective way to keep heating costs down To check if you have a draft issue,close a door or window on a strip of paper If the paper slides easily, you need to update your weatherstripping

DRAIN YOUR OUTDOOR FAUCETS Drain and disconnect all garden hoses from outside spigots to prevent any water freezing Not doing this can result to pipes bursting

BRING YOUR OUTDOOR FURNITURE IN You should store these in a garage or shed If you don't have anywhere to store them,you should cover in a waterproof furniture cover

FIX ANY CRACKS IN YOUR DRIVEWAY When water gets into cracks it freezes,expands,and can make the crack even bigger Enough small cracks can turn into big cracks,and eventually the concrete can crumble.

CHANGE YOUR FILTERS If your filters are clogged, it's harder to keep your home at the temperature you want it too be which will increase your heating bills.Clean these filters monthly,not just before the fall

FERTILIZE YOUR LAWN. If you want to keep your lawn looking great in the spring and summer,you need to prep it for the fall and winter Roots are still active when the grass isn't growing,so applying fertilizer will prevent winter damage Doing this will also help your lawn turn green faster in the spring

TEST WINTER EQUIPMENT Check to make sure your snow blower is working so you don't get stuck inside and can't get your car out to buy a new one

CHANGE YOUR BATTERIES Once a year you should be checking to make sure all smoke detectors and carbon monoxide devices are working Since you're already testing everything else out,you might as well add this on.
